Bald Eagle
I have chosen the Bald Eagle.
It is the national symbol of the United States of America.
The Bald Eagle lives in north America (Canada and Alaska). It
lives near large lakes, seacoasts and rivers.
Its diet consists mainly in fish.
It has 1-meter length and 2.4 meters with wing spread.
An adult has 7.200 feathers. It has white head, black or brown
body and 4 toes with claws.
It also has got an orange, large, hooked beak.
It is endangered because the destruction of its habitat.
The climate changes and overheating are putting the lakes in
danger and the deforestation is putting its nesting also in danger.
The lakes are important to the Bald Eagle diet and the old big
trees for the nesting.
The bald eagle was in the list of endangered species but with the
human concern and changes on the protection of the environment
they are now recovering and only threatened.
This is a proof that we can make changes and recover the
environment.
