NARRATIVE REPORT

It was last November 13, 2023 at exactly 7:30 in the morning when the bell rang for the Flag

gladness for they were eagerly present to join the Kick – Off activities of the Pambansang Buwan at

Araw ng Pagbasa 2023. The day was a fine day and yet very entertaining when Mrs. Vanessa H. Cabahug

the English Department Coordinator reads the Program of Activities. Every learner listens – smiles,

laughter’s and chit chat were heard above the stage but some were confused and had a frown faces

but as Mam Vanessa keeps on talking students understood what this Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng

Pagbasa was all about. It was then followed by the installation of the Reading Pantry at the SPED Room
headed by Mrs. Marites B. Tumacas with the language teachers as well as the English and Filipino Club

Officers. In the Reading Pantry students were encouraged to donate books, stories, newspapers or

magazines to be arranged in the pantry. Every student is welcome to read during their free time. A week

on that day was the conduct of the Read- A – Thon activities – this was done every English and Filipino

class. Along with this Read – A – Thon were the Story Retelling and Oral Reading and Interpretation

Every class must have at least two to three readers in a day. The intention is for students to practice

enunciating, blending of sounds, correct pronunciation and articulation of words. After a week, every

class were noisy every after last period in the afternoon for it was a practice time. Advisers were very

alive letting their students do best during the practice. No one wasted the time. Every learner was a

little excited.

The judgment day came, when the Culmination day of the Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng

Pagbasa was announced. Students were very busy doing everything – they were told to gather

themselves in the covered court. Students were dressed differently and had worn colorful dresses,

some brought flashcards, helmets, flowers and the like as their props. Advisers were at the same time

busy going there and here to check every one of the participants. This day was on November 28, 2023 at

exactly 7:30 in the fine morning. The activities were the Book Talk – where the Grades 7 and Grades 8

were the first on the list to compete followed by the Grades 9 and Grades 10 then the Grades 11 and

Grades 12. Next was the slogan contest to be contested every curriculum and held at the Grade 8 – Rizal

classroom. After that was the scrabble contest – still to be contested every curriculum. On the stage,

was the Dugtungan sa Pagbasa and the Reading Challenge. The atmosphere was very quiet for every one

listens patiently at the readers. Hence, in the afternoon was the continuation of the scrabble contest

held at the Grade 11 – Genesis classroom. Apparently, the Spelling Bee Contest and Speech Choir was

done on the stage.

At exactly 4:45 in the afternoon, the Masters of Ceremony announced the winners. The
awarding

of winners was delivered by Mr. Rhannie D. Corbita Teacher II of the Senior High Department. Everybody

applauded the winners some accepted defeat for as long as the contest was a fair play. The program
