Improving Access to Medical Supplies During Natural Disasters
Content Standards

 Context:
Trinidad and Tobago can be affected natural disasters by such
as hurricanes, floods, and
earthquakes. As a result of these disasters, people can become
sick or injured. Adequate
preparation before disasters is important to prevent injury and
loss of life . Very often,
when disaster strikes people are unprepared—medical supplies
are unavailable or
inaccessible to care for the injured.

Challenge: Your group is required to design and produce a device


for storing medical supplies in
 preparation for a hurricane. The device should be:
1) Attractive/neat
2) Made from recyclable materials
3) Should allow for safe storage and easy retrieval of medical
supplies
4) Cost no more than $20.00 to make.

 Specific Learning Outcomes

You will be able to:


• Identify ways of storing medical supplies;
• Identify medical supplies in case of natural disaster;
• Design a device for storing required medical supplies;
• Identify suitable materials for producing the storage device;
• Manipulate materials to produce the storage device

Problem Statement

I am required to make a hand-made med kit , It must include a


variety of colours, tablets, heat packs in its design. Also Cost no
more than $20.00 or and most importantly is containing Med kit
appliances

Design Brief presentation

Design brief is a plan of action for my project. We have three parts to


our project, therefore I have to make three design briefs, one for my
