Velocity For Gas in Pipe

This document contains graphs and tables showing the relationship between internal gas pipe velocity, pipe size, and pressure for natural gas pipelines. It shows that gas velocity decreases as pipe size increases or pressure decreases. Velocities range from over 1,000 feet/second in a 2-inch pipe at 50 psi to under 5 feet/second in an 8-inch pipe at pressures of 600 psi or higher. Tables provide specific velocity values for pipe sizes from 2 to 8 inches and pressures from 50 to 10,000 psi.
