11th Grade Poetry Project Instructions

This document provides instructions for an 11th grade poetry project. 11th grade Poetry Project Instructions DISCUSSED ON JANUARY 31, 19

THIS PROJECT WILL MAINLY BE DONE IN THE CLASSROOM—NO COMPUTER

I. Each Friday we will be working with a different type of poem (making the first draft) that will later be
included in the project along with the FINAL draft of the project.
II. Each poem will be worth 15 points
a. 5 points for the final draft
b. 5 points for following instructions
c. 5 points for including the 1st draft with teacher’s signature
III. The first draft MUST be done in the classroom and have the teacher’s signature.
IV. The Due date for this project will be March 18, 2019. NO PROJECTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER
THIS DATE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

 Each Friday you will need to bring to the classroom the following materials:
o Computer paper (white or any color you wish – except neon!!
o Colored pencils, markers, crayons
 The poems we will be including in the project are:
o Acrostic poem
o Concrete poem
o Cinquain poem
o I am poem
o Color poetry
o Bio poem
o Simile and Metaphor poem
 The following is the rubric that will be used to evaluate you. You should cut it and pasted on the last page
of your project.
