KEGIATAN PEMBELAJARAN 2: LET’S WRITE

A. Tujuan Pembelajaran
Setelah mempelajari modul yang berjudul “Caption” terutama Kegiatan Pembelajaran 2
ini, Anda akan mampu:
1. merancang teks penyerta (caption) dari sebuah gambar/grafik/bagan.
2. menggunakan kata kerja be dan infinitive.
3. Menulis teks penyerta (caption)dari gambar/grafik/bagan
B. Uraian Materi
Setelah membaca beberapa teks caption dari gambar/grafik/bagan pada Learning
activity 1, maka sekarang saatnya berlatih menuliskan caption pada beberapa gambar
yang disediakan dan menuliskan 2 atau 3 kalimat
Practise 1:
Look at the pictures below. Then match the caption on the boxes with the picture.

Good job! Pasangannya sudah tepat, itu artinya Anda sudah memahami bagaimana menuliskan teks
penyerta gambar. Nah sekarang saatnya berlatih menuliskan caption menggunakan bahasa Anda
sendiri. Jangan putus as ajika ada kata yang tidak Anda ketahui bahasa InggrisnyA. Anda boleh
melihat kamus baik cetak maupun digital.
Perhatikan langkah-langkah menulis teks penyerta gambar ( caption ).
TIPS TO WRITE CAPTIONS
 Do not begin with the words a, an, or the.
 Use present tense to describe action in a photo.
 Give readers information they cannot get from just looking at a photo.
 A caption should complete the photo. The reader should not have to look at the story, but should
want to look at the story.
 Write captions so they go from specific to general or general to specific.
 Do not begin a caption with names.
 When identifying members of a group, write “from left,” not “from left to right.”
 “Above” and “pictured here” are unnecessary.
 Captions should not repeat information contained in the lead.
 Name people only if they are important to the picture

3. Language Features
- Noun Phrase for a thing, a person, an animal, a location, etc. which is focused on,

- Verb Phrase dealing picture/photograph/graph/chart
- spelling, punctuation, and handwriting
