A. / B.
The United Kingdom is the eighth biggest tourist destination with around 32,000,000 visitors every year. Half of them choose
London as their favourite British holiday city.
Every city has a story to tell and London is no exception. Its heart is in Piccadilly Circus. Bright neon lights attract shopaholics,
street artists, crowds and, of course, different kinds of tourists love this spot. Other than that, curious tourists invade museums,
such as the Natural History Museum, Tate Modern, Sherlock Holmes Museum and many, many others. They also go sightseeing
and enjoy exploring historical places: London Eye, Hyde Park (with its lake, the Serpentine), Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral,
Westminster Abbey and, of course, the must-see landmark: Buckingham Palace. Whilst visiting the royal palace, people can watch
the ceremony of the Changing of the Guard and they hope to see some members of the royal family.
London is an iconic European capital city and there are many, many secret places to explore and visit. So… come along and
book your once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Mother: Hi, Melanie. I’m home, but you aren’t here. Where did you go?
Melanie: Hey, Mum. I came to the city with Jenny. She wanted to buy a birthday gift for her sister. We spent the whole morning at the
shopping centre.
Mother: Oh, good gracious. Did you at least buy the gift?
Melanie: Yes, we did. We went to lots of shops because Jenny didn’t know what to buy! We went to the clothes shop first, then to a sports
shop, a pet shop and finally to an accessory shop. We bought a beautiful necklace, the perfect gift.
Mother: Great. What else did you do there, Mel?
Melanie: We had lunch at that new pizzeria opposite my favourite shoe shop. Then we went to the computer shop. Jenny wanted to buy
a mobile phone.
Mother: Did you buy anything for you? You said you needed a new pair of trainers and some books…
Melanie: No, Mum. I’m keeping the money to buy them before summer break.
Mother: OK, dear. I need a favour from you. Could you go to the greengrocer’s and bring some fruit and vegetables, please? I want to
start cooking dinner, but our fridge is almost empty…
Melanie: Sure, Mum. Do we need any bread, too?
Mother: Yes, honey. Thank you! There’s a baker’s next to the greengrocer’s.
Melanie: OK. I need to hurry, then. I’m taking the 4 o’clock bus and it’s almost a quarter past three. See ya!

Adventure City – a big city inside a small theme park

Last summer my family and I went to Adventure City, in Orange County,

California. It’s a small theme park near home, but it turned out to be a great place
to have some fun. My parents, my brother and I didn’t have plans for our summer
holiday, so my dad started googling. And… can you imagine? He found this
5 theme park just around the corner – it is 2 km from our house. While my dad was
reading the TripAdvisor reviews, my mum, my brother and I started asking him to buy the tickets online. Fortunately, they
weren’t sold out. We went there the following day and we had a great time together!
Take a look at the reviews and check out why we wanted to visit it and why it was an awesome adventure!

This place is the best if you have kids from 1 to 12. The ticket is only 26 dollars, there are unlimited rides,
no queues, it’s clean, well run and not a rip off1. We brought our 1-and-a-half-year-old and she absolutely
loved it. We spent about two and a half hours there. There are plenty of places to sit down, park the
15 pushchair2 and toilets. We thought it was perfect for kids, you can let them loose as it’s not a big area, and
then there are 2 rollercoasters. There is also a small animal petting area where kids can brush goats and a
pig and there are chickens. There is also free parking and good, cheap places to eat (pizza and hot dogs
are delicious).
We liked this place so much we went twice in the same week. It’s a 10/10.

25 The park is amazing!!! You are actually on rides 95% of the time. They have a lot of rides for kids from 2

more than Legoland and Disneyland" – I could not believe it. We have membership this year for Legoland
and she loves Adventure City more! I guess this is because there are no lines, and it is cute and cosy. I
guess if kids are over 10, it may not be as interesting but still good! Thank you! We will be back!!!
