How to Verify the Downloaded BIOS Files

The 6400 Bios Build36.zip file is composed of:

 6400_md5calc.bat
 301001100_6400_BiosDisk_PF036.iso
 301001100_6400_BiosDisk_PF036.md5
 md5sum.exe

The 7400 Bios Build36.zip file is composed of:

 7400_md5calc.bat
 301002000_7400_BiosDisk_PF036.iso
 301002000_7400_BiosDisk_PF036.md5
 md5sum.exe

To verify that the sent file is received correctly:

 Unzip the file


 Run the .bat file
 Using the Note Pad utility, open the generated .md5 file (named 6400.md5 or 7400.md5)
and the .md5 file enclosed to the zip and compare them.
The figures below show, as an example, the comparison between the 7400.md5 file to

Burn the .ISO file

Using the Nero burning program (if possible), create the BIOS disk from the ISO file.

How to Install the BIOS File on the System

Tools

 BIOS Disk
 n.1 USB Alphanumeric keyboard (only for 7400 model)

Procedure

 Turn the system on and press continuously the Del key to enter the BIOS
configuration menu.
 Enter the password “laser” and press Enter  to confirm.
 Using the arrow keys, select the ADVANCED CMOS CONFIGURATION menu and
press Enter  to confirm.
 Select the FIRST BOOT DEVICE option.
 Using the PgUp and PgDn, or + and - keys set “CD-ROM”.
 Verify that the option BOOT VIDEO FIRST FROM is set to “IGD”.
 Press Esc to return to the main menu.
 Insert the disk.
 Using the arrow keys, select the WRITE TO CMOS AND EXIT option and press
Enter  to confirm.
 The system boots from the burner and automatically installs the BIOS.
 At the end of the procedure, the BIOS disk is automatically ejected and the cursor is
displayed on the screen.
 Remove the disk.

 Turn the system off by keeping pressed the ON/OFF key for at least 5 sec.

Check of the update

 Turn the system on


 During Start Up check the installed Bios version:
 for 7400 model the system shows “Bios Package Firmware: 036 LVDS”
 for 6400 model the system shows “Bios Package Firmware: 036 DVI”
