In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful

1. Importance of Belief on the Seal of Prophets

Man’s belief or faith is most important of all. There will be no escape from hell as long as man’s belief is not
appropriate/accurate. If his belief is correct, he might go to Paradise (Jannath) someday or other, and if his
belief is wrong, he will never go to Paradise (Jannath). (Aal-e-Imran)

Islam has three basis beliefs: (1) Tawheed or Belief in monotheism and belief in one and only one God
(2) Risalath or Prophet-hood, and (3) Aakhirat or Final Day of Judgment or Resurrection Day. Most important
is Risalath, because the true knowledge and recognition of Allah and the Final Day of Judgment was made know
to us through Prophet Muhammad SAW. Therefore, the foundation and standard of belief is the life-style of
Prophet Muhammad. (Explanation to Belief: Page 119).

If ever any Prophet comes after Prophet Muhammad and of his standard and status, then the
identification and greatness of Prophet Muhammad will come to an end.

The teachings of Prophets who came prior to Prophet Muhammad are not safe and secure. Therefore,
there is no possibility for us to follow them. The teachings of Prophet Muhammad are secure and have reached
us through reliable sources. The Seal on Prophet-hood forms part of these teachings. Hence, recognising
anyone as Prophet after Prophet Muhammad, is against the principle of Seal on the Prophet-hood.

2. The meaning of Seal of Prophet-hood

The Seal on ‘Prophet-hood’ means that Prophet Muhammad is the last of the prophets sent upon the
mankind. His name, his deen (faith), his teachings are alive and secure, and the Quran revealed on him is there
everywhere to guide his Shariyath (Islamic Jurisprudence/Divine Law), and then what is the need for another
new Prophet? Prophet Muhammad is the Prophet on people to be born till the Day of Judgment, and salvation
of all depends on the belief in Prophet Muhammad.

3. A common proof of the Seal of Prophet-hood

Had a new Prophet has ever come, there will be the divine name of Prophet in Azaan, Prayers, Darood
(Salutations to Prophet) and wherever his name appears, the name of new Prophet would have appeared. But
this has not happened. The noble name of Prophet Muhammad will remain forever, and hence there will never
ever be any new Messenger till the Resurrection Day. Hazrath Esa (Isa) will come close to Resurrection day,
but not as a Prophet, but as the deputy of our Prophet Muhammad.

4. Proof from Quran

Though the belief on Seal of Prophet is proved by many verses, one of them is mentioned here:
ِ‫اّلل بِكح َ ِل َشيءٍ عَل‬ ِ ِ ِ
‫يما‬
ً ْ ‫ح‬ َ ‫ان‬
َ َ ‫ني َوك‬
َ َ َ ‫ان حُم َ َم ٌد أَبَا أ َ َح ٍد م ْن ِر َجال حك ْم َولَك ْن َر حس‬
ِ َ ‫ول‬
‫اّلل َو َخاتَ َم النَب ِِي‬ َ َ ‫ َما ك‬Meaning: Muhammad (SAW)
is not the father of any men from you, but he is Allah’s Rasool and Seal of the Prophets. (33/40)

All the believers agree on the meaning that there will never ever been Prophet after Prophet Muhammad
of his kind, or any kind of Rasool, and also concur on this that there is no room for (further) reinterpretation or
specialization. Hence the disbeliever in this is the disbeliever in the wholesome Muslim believers.
 5. Proof from Hadees

There is mention of Seal on Prophet through numerous Hadees, and one among them is hereunder:
Haz. Saubaan RA narrates that Prophet Muhammad SAW has state that 30 false Prophets will take birth in my
Believers (Ummah) and each one of them will say that I am the Prophet, though I am the Seal of the Prophet
and there cannot be a Prophet after me. (Abu Dawood, Page 127, Volume 2, Kitab-ul-Fitan)

6. Consensus (General Agreement)

The consensus of Prophet’s companions embosses independent reasoning, and it is mandatory to follow
it. The first such consensus was held on the Seal of Prophet. Allama Syed Mahmood Aaloosi states in his
Commentary ‘Rooh-ul-Ma’ani, states replicating the Consensus. Translation: The proof of Prophet Muhammad
as the Seal of Prophets are from those theorems on which Quran has given explanation and Prophet’s Hadees
have given explained the with clarity, and all believers concur on the same.

Therefore, the one who does not believe on the Seal of Prophet is Infidel (Kafir) and if he doesn’t
repent, he would be beheaded in Islamic countries. (Rooh-ul-Ma’ani Volume 22, Page 41)

7. Imam Mahdi

Imam Mahdi would appear close to Resurrection Day. It is proved from Ahadees that he would appear
prior to the descent of Hazrath Isa As. His name would be Muhammad and his father’s name would be Abdullah
(Abu Dawud, Tirmizhi). The name of his mother would be Amina, would be born in Madinah, would go to
Makkah, people would recognize him by themselves and would take oath in his hand in a place between
Ibrahim’s place and Hajr-e-Aswad 9 Abu Dawud, Tirmizhi) and make him his king. At that time, a voice would
come from nowhere. ‫ط َي َع َوا‬ ِ َِ ‫ هَ َذا ََخ َلِ َي ْ َف حَة ا‬Meaning: He is Mahdi and vicegerent, follow his
َ ‫لل َاَلـ ْ َمَ َهْ َِد َح‬
ْ ‫س َحع َْوا َل َهَ ََو َا َ َ ْ ح‬
ََ ْ ‫ى َفَا‬
words. Imam Madi’s appearance would not be hidden. He would die at the age of 49. (Mishkaat, Conditions
of Time), and he would be born in no place than Madinah. If anyone born in a place other than Madinah and
claims himself as Mahdi, beware of him.
8. Hazrath Isa AS

Allah had lifted Hazrath Isa AS alive to Heavens. He would descend in the Mahdi’s period and kill
Dajjaal. Isa AS would descend near the eastern minaret in Damascus mosque in Damascus. Isa AS would
break the cross, kill the pig, withdraw jizya (tax), invite to Islam. Hazrath Isa AS and Mahdi two different
personalities. In their times, Allah would destroy all faiths except Islam, there would be peace in the world, he
would stay on the Earth for 40 years, and then die. Muslims would perform Namaz-e-Janaza and bury him
(Certified in Ahmed 2/406, Fath-ul-Baari 6/257).

It is known that Isa AS has not yet descended from the Heavens, therefore, if anyone says about himself
that he is Hazrath Isa, then he is a liar, and it is necessary to keep aloof from him.
