TR-7578 is designed for safe operation of medium voltage cast resin / dry type transformers. It is suitable for
control room as well as marshalling box installation and is built for long and trouble-free operation under
extreme conditions of service associated with transformer.
Three numbers of user settable set-points are provided - i) to control the cooling fan, ii) to warn the user of
high temperature and iii) to shut down the transformer in case of excessive heating. TR-7578 can accept upto
eight numbers of Pt-100 RTD sensors to allow the user to monitor eight critical temperature parameters on the
transformer. These can be like, three windings and core (as in case of TR-7570) or 6 winding points (either 3
from primary and 3 from secondary or 3 from top and 3 from the bottom of the three phase windings). This can
be achieved using TR-7576 also. However, to monitor additional temperature points in addition to six winding
temperature points like core temperature or enclosure temperature, TR-7578 is the solution.
TR-7578 is programmed to note and store maximum temperature of these points. Facility extends to recall this
information and to clear it for fresh recording. The maximum Temperature is saved such that it can be recalled
even after the power for TR-7578 is interrupted.
TR-7578-C is provided with facility for computer communication using RS-485 with MODBUS RTU Slave
Protocol in addition of 4-20mA output signal.
