Cours 2

This document presents a simplicial set as having objects that are finite ordinals and morphisms that are monotone functions. Normal forms of elements are constructed from strings of generators with decreasing subscripts, together with a map. Rewriting rules are proved to be confluent and terminating using rewriting theory, ensuring uniqueness of normal forms.
