Introduction
Introduction
This document explains how to create and
manage electronic notes in Raymond Electronic
Documents.
Adobe Reader ® provides the capability to attach
notes and commentaries to Portable Document
Format (PDF) documents (if the comments
feature was enabled when the document was
created). Adobe Reader can be downloaded at
no charge from www.adobe.com.
Adobe Acrobat ® provides the capability to
attach notes and commentaries to any PDF
documents. These notes and comments can be
imported or exported to other PDFs. For more
information, go to www.adobe.com.

Using the Note Tool
Using the Note Tool 3. Click and drag note to the desired location
on the page. See Figure 3.
Use the Note tool (Sticky Note) to add notes to
any page in the document. You can position
notes anywhere on the page. When a note is
added, a note icon and a pop-up window
appear.
NOTE: The information provided in this section
is based on Adobe Reader Version 9.0.0.
Adobe Acrobat provides similar
commenting capabilities, however, the
user interface will differ slightly.
Adding a Note 2
1. With the PDF document open, select the Figure 3: Note Location

for the note.
5. Click the box in the upper right corner of
the window to close the note. Closing the
note will not delete the text in the note.

Using the Comments List
The Comments list shows the comments (sticky
notes) in a document. Use the comments list to
sort or delete notes.

To show/hide the comments list, click the
Comments button in the left side toolbar or
click on Show/Hide Comments List in the
Comment drop-down menu.

Importing and Exporting Comments
Importing and Exporting means. For more information, click Help on the

Exporting Comments
1. Open the document the comments will be
exported from. In the Comments
drop-down menu, click Export Comments
to Data File....
2. Select the desired location for the document
to be saved and enter a filename for the
export document.
3. Click Save. A *.fdf file is created. The
comments maintain the same location and
position they occupied in the original file.
