2. The television works well after being repaired.
Sentence with plural nouns:
1. Classes in different subjects have their own schedules.

LESSON
B. Development
(Pagpapaunlad)
Today we are going to discuss on how to construct sentences with Singular Subject and Present
Tense of the Verb or the -S or -ES form of the Verb. Although you are probably already familiar
with basic subject-verb agreement, this chapter begins with a quick review of basic agreement
rules.
Basic Agreement Rules
That Subjects and verbs must AGREE with one another in number (singular
or plural). So;
A. if the subject is singular, its verb must also be singular,
B. and if the subject is plural, its verb must also be plural.
But since our topic is Singular Subject + Present Verb, therefore the sentences
that we are going to construct consists of one subject and singular verb in the
present form.
What is a singular subject?
A singular subject is made up of one noun that represents as one person, one
place, one thing, one event, one idea or one pronoun in the third person.
The form of this subject usually does not have -s or -es at the end of the word.
See the table below.
When do we use the present verb?
Present Verb / the -S or -ES form of the Verb
the - s or -es form is very commonly used for main verb when the subject
is singular, and this is in the third person. And it goes like this, the base
form plus 's' (or 'es) and the event happen in the present.
these verbs that describe an action happening right now, an action that is
habitual in characteristic, or an action that states a fact.
See the table below.
Examples:
A. Mrs. Cruz speaks English fluently.
B. Manila Bay invites more tourists this time.
C. It takes time for us traveling here.
D. Christmas season is the most wonderful season.
E. Sincere prayer saves us all.
Notice that, Mrs. Cruz, Manila Bay, It, Christmas season, and prayer are
singular subject in the given sample sentences above. Each of them represents
only one person, one place, one thing, one event and one idea. Always
remember that singular means one or single only.
While the form of the verb is in the Present; meaning the action states a fact or
shows that the action or event happen currently.
Remember present form of the verbs in English is used to describe things that
are happening right now, or things that are habitual to be happened, or things
happen repeatedly.
Note: For a few verbs, the third-person singular ends with -es instead of –s
only. Typically, these are verbs whose root form ends in-e, o, ch, sh, th, ss, z
or zz.
Like; go-goes, do-does
watch-watches scratch-scratches
push-pushes, slash-slashes
kiss-kisses witness-witnesses
buzz- buzzes quiz-quizzes
