INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
In today's world where speed and efficiency increase every day, the importance of
information and communication technology (ICT) is very important. ICT supports all aspects
of human life and the construction industry is no different from other industries. This whole
process of gathering and sharing knowledge has been modified by the concept of ICT. ICT is
now essential in many aspects of construction, including pre-construction, design,
construction, operation and maintenance. ICT has also changed perspectives on the
construction industry, including environmental impacts, health and safety, gender equality,
increased confidence in the industry and the need to adopt new technologies. ICT in the
construction sector involves the design, construction, operation and management of
infrastructure projects. Communication has extraordinary esteem in development ventures,
but the development industry is confronting the significance and utilize of data and
communication innovation (ICT).
As companies in most creating nations have expanded and arrange to extend their
investment in ICT within the future, this has expanded efficiency within the development
industry, moving forward the quality and speed of work, budgetary administration,
communication and get to information common companies in third world nations have not
however caught on these imperative values and their significance for the improvement of the
development segment. In any case, the benefits of ICT come at a fetched due to the
complexity of assignments, administration needs, costs of doing commerce, the steady
require for upgrades and the require for more information.
Construction management is the effective planning, organization, implementation
and management of the basic business processes of marketing, procurement, production,

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Construction
In today's world where speed and efficiency are increasing day by day, the
importance of information and communication technology (ICT) is very important. ICT
underpins all aspects of human life, and the construction industry is no different from other
industries. In general, ICT is a mix of software and hardware, with specific applications for
the construction sector. Early architecture, in terms of the use of building materials, was all
about human activity, from the Neolithic to the Copper Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. At the
end of the 19th century, construction methods remained the same, and iron was to usher in a
new era of construction. Previously, all knowledge about designs and drawings was stored on
paper in 2D format. And all that knowledge was transmitted through images or writings.
This whole process of gathering and distributing knowledge has changed with the invention
of ICT. ICT is now integral to various aspects of construction, including pre-construction,
design, construction, operation and maintenance. ICT helps improve every step and improve
cooperation between groups, and with the proper use of ICT, all data can be integrated in
one place. This improves the speed of error tracking and correction, saving time, reducing
waste and reducing overall costs. ICT has also changed perspectives on the construction
industry, including environmental impacts, health and safety, gender equality, increased
confidence in the industry and the need to adopt new technologies. ICT in the construction
sector involves the design, construction, operation and management of infrastructure
projects. (Mitra Barun Dutta, 2022)
The construction sector (AECO sector) has been disrupted and is struggling to adopt
digital methods. Profitability is a major concern around the world and the economy has been
very depressed. Studies show that the value generated by increased productivity could cover

METHODOLOGY
Research Design
This study will be using quanlitative research design. Specifically, descriptive
research design.
Respondents of the Study
The respondents of the study were the owner or manager of the construction firms in
Mainland Palawan.
This study will be using purposive sampling technique and the Slovin’s formula
(equation 3.1) to determine the number of respondents.
N
n= 2 (3.1)
1+ N e
where:
n= sample size
N= population size
e= margin of error
Data Gathering Instrument
The data will gather using questionnaires and actual interview. The questionnaire
was composed of questions leading to answer the objective of the study.
Data Gathering Procedures
A permission letter for the respondents noted by research adviser to allow the
researcher to conduct a research study on the construction firms located in mainland
Palawan. A request letter will be sending to DTI asking for a copy of list of construction firms
registered
