‫ إَّنا َأنَز ْلَناُه ُقْر آًنا َع َر ِبًّيا َّلَع َّلُك ْم‬# ‫ ِتْلَك آَياُت اْلِكَتاِب اْلـُم ِبيِن‬# ‫الـر‬
)2-1 ‫ (يوسف‬. ‫َتْع ِقُلوَن‬
‫ ِكَتاٌب ُفِّص َلْت آَياُتُه ُقْر آًنا َع َر ِبًّيا‬# ‫ َتنِزيٌل ِّم َن الَّرْح َمِن الَّر ِح يِم‬# ‫حم‬
[Alif-Lãm-Ra. These are the verses of the clear )3-1 ‫ (فصلت‬. ‫ِّلَقْو ٍم َيْع َلُم وَن‬
Book # Indeed, We have sent it down as an
Arabic Quran1 so that you may understand] [Ḥâ-Mĩm # ˹This is˺ a revelation from the Most
Compassionate, Most Merciful # ˹It is˺ a Book
whose verses are perfectly explained—a Quran
in Arabic for people who know]
‫َك َذ ِلَك َأنَز ْلَناُه ُقْر آًنا َع َر ِبًّيا َو َص َّر ْفَنا ِفيِه ِم َن اْلَو ِع يِد َلَع َّلُهْم َيَّتُقوَن َأْو‬
)113 ‫ (طه‬.‫ُيْح ِد ُث َلُهْم ِذ ْك ًرا‬

[And so We have sent it down as an Arabic ‫ َو إَّنُه‬# ‫ إَّنا َج َع ْلَناُه ُقْر آًنا َع َر ِبًّيا َّلَع َّلُك ْم َتْع ِقُلوَن‬# ‫ َو اْلِكَتاِب اْلـُم ِبيِن‬# ‫حـم‬
Quran and varied the warnings in it, so perhaps )4-1 ‫ (الزخرف‬. ‫ِفي ُأِّم اْلِك َتاِب َلَد ْيَنا َلَعِلٌّي َح ِك يٌم‬
they will shun evil or it may cause them to be
mindful] [Ḥâ-Mĩm # By the clear Book! # Certainly, We
have made it a Quran in Arabic so perhaps you
will understand]
27 ‫َو َلَقْد َض َر ْبَنا ِللَّناِس ِفي َهَذ ا اْلُقْر آِن ِم ن ُك ِّل َم َثٍل َّلَع َّلُهْم َيَتَذَّك ُروَن‬
)28-27 ‫ (الزمر‬. ‫ُقْر آًنا َع َر ِبًّيا َغْيَر ِذ ي ِع َو ٍج َّلَع َّلُهْم َيَّتُقوَن‬
‫َو َك َذ ِلَك َأْو َح ْيَنا إَلْيَك ُقْر آًنا َع َر ِبًّيا ِّلُتنِذَر ُأَّم اْلُقَر ى َو َم ْن َح ْو َلَها َو ُتنِذَر‬
[We have certainly set forth every ˹kind of˺ )7 ‫ (الشورى‬. ‫َيْو َم اْلـَج ْم ِع ال َر ْيَب ِفيِه َفِر يٌق ِفي اْلـَج َّنِة َو َفِر يٌق ِفي الَّس ِع يِر‬
lesson for people in this Quran, so perhaps they
will be mindful # ˹It is˺ a Quran ˹revealed˺ in
[And so We have revealed to you a Quran in ‫ َفَّصل فيه مصالح العباد في‬،‫ القرآن كالم هللا وتنزيله‬: ‫قال الفارابي‬
Arabic, so you may warn the Mother of ‫ وال سبيل إلى علمه وإدراك‬،‫ مما يأتون وَيَذ ُرون‬،‫معاشهم ومعادهم‬
Cities1 and everyone around it, and warn of the
Day of Gathering—about which there is no
‫معانيه إال بالتبحر في علم هذه اللغة‬.

another in the Blaze] Al-Farabi said: Quran is the statement of Allaah

“‫ َو َتِزيُد ِفي اْلُم ُروَء ِة‬، ‫”َتَع َّلُم وا اْلَعَر ِبَّيَة؛ َفِإَّنَها ُتَثِّبُت اْلَع ْقَل‬ benefits of His slaves for their living and their life
