1. INTRODUCTION:

This technical specification specifies the technical requirements of inflatable rubber seal
for HS748 aircraft.The specification of the rubber seal is detailed below:
2. DESCRIPTION
Neoprene based inflatable rubber seal for HS748 aircraft.

3. APPLICATION
Main application of these seal is in heat exchanger of air conditioning system of HS748 A/C.
It is rectangular in shape and installed on both the rectangular flanges of the heat exchanger
to close any gap between heat exchanger and structural members in order to achieve equal
sealing pressure around the flange.It is fixed on the heat exchanger flange by application
of adhesive from the inside and secured by structural wooden frame on the outside.

4. MECHANICAL PROPERTIES:

Seal should have excellent mechanical properties and resistant to oils &
grease,water,ozone,chemical and acids.

5. FLEXIBILITY:
It is exposed to extreme temperature ranging from -30⁰C to 150⁰C and mechanical stresses
and should be able to maintain its structural integrity and flexibility throughout its intended
life period.

6. POROSITY:
Completely non porous seal.

7. SHELF LIFE:
Shelf life of the seal shall be as per CEMILAC guideline.

8. FIRE RESISTANCE:
Seal should be fire resistant/proof.

10. ACCEPTANCE TEST PROCEDURE (ATP)


Inspection of product for delivery under contact or purchase order shall include the
following report.

1) The sample selected from lot batch shall be visually and dimensionally examined for
conformance to applicable specification sheet.

2) The vendor shall provide item conforming to material specification as mentioned in


drawing or equivalent (type approved material ), dimensions and technical requirement
as specified.

3) Fitment trial shall be conducted at HAL shop/test on parts/assembly where specified in


the aircraft.
