VI. DISCUSSION: Health and Skill-Related Fitness, Definition of Fitness and Physical Fitness

Everyone wants to have a healthy and physically fit body. When you have these, you can be
productive and efficient. You can have a feeling of satisfaction and well-being.
Health and skill-related fitness activities play a significant role in the holistic development
of an individual. The choice of fitness activities will depend on a person’s understanding,
interests,
age, and the ability to do it. These activities ensure cardiovascular fitness, and therefore, help
you achieve the state of being healthy.

strive for a high quality of life which includes being physically, mentally, emotionally, socially
and spiritually healthy!
PHYSICAL FITNESS is the ability of an individual to carry out daily tasks without undue fatigue.
Because we rely too much on technology, it could make us less fit. But, if we could let ourselves
do physical activities regularly, we can improve our physical fitness through the performance of
different exercises.
PHYSICAL FITNESS is also defined as the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor and alertness
without undue fatigue and with ample energy to enjoy leisure time and to meet
unforeseen emergencies. (Presidential Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, 1993)
