1. Tools and equipment are prepared based on salon procedure and policies.
2. Tools and equipment are identified and checked according to task requirements.

1. Prepare the necessary tools and equipment for the specific nail care activity.

 Science - Study the composition and structure of nails.
 Mathematics - Calculate the measurements and proportions needed for nail
care tools.
 Health - Understand the importance of proper nail care and hygiene.

II. Subject Matter


A. Topic: Lesson 1 Use of Nail Care Tools and Equipment
B. Materials Needed: Chalk, chalkboard, printed materials, Learning Module
C. Reference: K-12 Basic Education Curriculum Learning Module, pp. 4-26

III. Procedure

A. Elicit:
Ask students what they know about nail care.

B. Engage:
1. Show a video tutorial on nail care and ask students to identify the tools and equipment
used.
2. Share personal experiences or stories related to nail care and ask students to share their
own.

C.Explore:
Activity 1: Identifying Nail Care Tools
Materials: Pictures or actual nail care tools
Instructions: Show pictures or provide actual nail care tools and ask students to identify
each tool and its purpose. Use a rubric to assess their identification skills.
Rubric:
- Correct identification of tools: 5 points
- Partially correct identification: 3 points
- Incorrect identification: 1 point
Assessment Questions:

Activity 2: Identification of Tools and Equipment According to Task Requirement


Instructions: You are given different materials, tools and equipment. Group all the
materials, then all the tools and the third group, equipment.
Assessment Questions:
1. Why is it important to clean and sanitize nail care tools?
2. What cleaning solution can be used to sanitize the tools?

Activity 3: Organizing Nail Care Tools


Materials: Nail care tools, storage container
Instructions: Ask students to organize the nail care tools in a storage container according to
their specific uses. Use a rubric to assess their organizational skills.
Rubric:
- Proper organization of tools: 5 points
- Partially correct organization: 3 points
- Incorrect organization: 1 point
Assessment Questions:
1. Why is it important to organize nail care tools?
2. How can proper organization help in performing nail care activities?

D.Explain:
1. Lecture: Teach students about the different nail care tools and their specific uses.

E. Elaborate:
1. Role-playing: Divide students into pairs. One student will act as a customer, and the other
will act as a nail technician. They will demonstrate the proper use of nail care tools.
2. Group discussion: Assign each group a specific nail problem, and ask them to come up
with a solution using the appropriate tools.

F. Evaluate:
