- Unlocking of Difficulties
The teacher will provide five sentences, each with an underlined word. Students
are expected to define each word based on the context clues in the sentences.

2. During Reading
- The teacher will ask the students to silently read the poem.
- After reading individually, the teacher will assign different groups to read
specific stanzas.
- The students will answer comprehension questions to check their
understanding.

3. Post Reading
- The students will create a character sketch of an African child based on the
details found in the poem.
- Based on the character sketch, the students will analyze the theme of the
poem by supporting it with a few lines.
