Motivation – Let’s sing!

Listen and sing the song “A Million Dreams” from the movie “The Greatest Showman” then
read and analyze the poem “I Dream A World” by Langston Hughes.
A Million Dreams
I close my eyes and I can see I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy
The world that's waiting up for me We can live in a world that we design
That I call my own
Through the dark, through the door 'Cause every night I lie in bed
Through where no one's been before The brightest colours fill my head
But it feels like home A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy A vision of the one I see
They can say, they can say I've lost my mind A million dreams is all it's gonna take
Oh a million dreams for the world we're gonna Oh a million dreams for the world we're gonna
make make
There's a house we can build However big, however small
Every room inside is filled Let me be part of it all
With things from far away Share your dreams with me
The special things I compile You may be right, you may be wrong
Each one there to make you smile But say that you'll bring me along
On a rainy day To the world you see
To the world I close my eyes to see
They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy I close my eyes to see
They can say, they can say we've lost our
minds Every night I lie in bed
I don't care, I don't care if they call us crazy The brightest colours fill my head
Runaway to a world that we design A million dreams are keeping me awake
A million dreams, a million dreams
Every night I lie in bed I think of what the world could be
The brightest colours fill my head A vision of the one I see
A million dreams are keeping me awake A million dreams is all it's gonna take
I think of what the world could be A million dreams for the world we're gonna
A vision of the one I see make
A million dreams is all it's gonna take

I Dream A World
I dream a world where man
No other man will scorn,
Where love will bless the earth
And peace its paths adorn
I dream a world where all
Will know sweet freedom's way,
Where greed no longer saps the soul
Nor avarice blights our day.
A world I dream where black or white,
Whatever race you be,
Will share the bounties of the earth
And every man is free,
Where wretchedness will hang its head
And joy, like a pearl,
Attends the needs of all mankind-
Of such I dream, my world!
