While working at Quintilian Way school, I plan activities for an after-school program. I work with
autistic youth, ages 13-18 and myself, as well as a co-facilitator plan outings to bowling alleys and
movie nights once a week.

As a Dietary Aide at Moira Place, my job is to prepare the food to be served to the residents. I
take all temperatures of the foods and input the information into our temperature log after each
meal. I am responsible to know which type of food consistency each resident has, making snacks
as per diet roster, as well as knowing diabetic portions. My role consists of restocking food items,
dating and labeling food items, dishes, sweeping/mopping, and table setting. Since working at
Moira Place, I have gained a sense of responsibility, time management skills, and effective
communication skills.

When I was hired at the Gateway Family Restaurant, I was hired as a cook in the kitchen. I would
work along side my co-workers to ensure that the food was cooked to the proper temperatures,
as well as keeping the kitchen tidy as we worked. My day would consist of making lists of things
to pull for the next day, ensuring that the food orders were put away and dated, as well as
working in the front as a server when we needed someone to step in for support. I gained strong
work ethic skills, organization skills, time management skills, as well as professionalism skills.

Over the last few years, I have been involved in volunteering with the Tweed Hungerford
Agricultural Society in many ways. I have assisted in The Winter Carnival, Haunted Hall, Festival
of Trees, Vender Sales, Durbies, The Colour Run, and The Annual Car Show’s. I have been
someone who has had an immense amount of trust put in me by putting me in charge of money
counting/sales, ticket selling and being wherever I was asked to be.

Bravo Breakfast Award 2016
As a young grade six student, I received an award for my drive and passion to help every person
that I would come across in a day. I enjoyed helping fellow classmates, friends, teachers and
office secretaries. I would help with delivering pizza lunches, classroom milk orders, hot soup
lunches, subway lunches, and frequent distributing of notes to all classrooms. I organized a group
called the “Social Justice” group in my school after we had attended a trip to WE Day which had a
major impact on our school. This award was distributed to one student in the Eastern School
Board.
Children’s Foundation 2022
I received two awards in 2022 from the Children’s Foundation to aid me in my journey to college. I
received a bursary, as well as a scholarship.
The Children’s Foundation 2023
I have received another bursary and scholarship from The Children’s Foundation in August of
2023. The bursary and scholarship I received were from the Brady Clark Advisory Group and I
was fortunate enough to accept these awards from the representatives.
