Extrusion
Extrusion is a metal forming process in which metal or work piece is forced to flow
through a die to reduce its cross section or convert it into desire shape.
Drawing:
Drawing is a common metalworking process performed by manufacturing companies. It’s
able to extend the length of metal by pulling and stretching the metal. It’s called
“drawing” because the machine “draws” the metal towards it. As the metal stretches, it
becomes longer and thinner. Once the desired shape has been achieved, the metal is
removed from the machine.

Sheeting:
Sheet metal is produced by processing various metals like aluminum,
brass, and copper into thin sheets. The sheet metal process typically
has four stages: the melting stage, the pouring stage, the pickling
stage, and the rolling and annealing stage.
2
Bending:
Metal bending is a process by which metal can be
formed when applying force to the subject, which causes
it to bend at an angle and form the anticipated shape.
Rolling:
Rolling is the most widely used deformation process. It consists of
passing metal between two rollers, which exert compressive stresses,
reducing the metal thickness. Where simple shapes are to be made in
large quantity, rolling is the most economical process. Rolled products
include sheets, structural shapes and rails as well as intermediate shapes
for wire drawing or forging. Circular shapes, ‘I’ beams and railway tracks
are manufactured using grooved rolls.
3
Punching:
Punching is a separating technique, mainly used to process holes into flat
materials like paper, plastic film or sheet metals. Normally, the punching
equipment consists of two tool parts – one support for the punches and one for
the dies. While the punches enter the dies, the material is being shear cut.
4
Blanking:
Blanking is a steel manufacturing process in which a flat, geometric shape (or
“blank”) is created by feeding a coil of sheet metal into a press and die. In this
process the blank is punched out from large metal sheet.
Spinning:
Metal spinning is a method of forming rotationally symmetrical sheet metal
parts. In spinning, the sheet metal discs are formed into rotationally
symmetrical hollow shapes. The blank is clamped between the shaped spinning
mandrel and the tailstock of the spinning machine and rotated by the main
drive.
