The output frequency is continuously variable between these ranges by adjusting the variable frequency control
knob.
The amplitude is variable for the sine wave, triangle and square wave by adjusting the amplitude control knob.

Figure 7
Operation:
The output of each function is made at the terminals as shown in Fig 4. All outputs are available simultaneously at
the same frequency. Select the frequency range and then fine tune the frequency using the Variable Frequency
Control Knob. Adjust the amplitude of the sine, triangle and Square wave using the Amplitude control.
Pre-Operation Check:
The output of the function generator can be observed by using an oscilloscope. Connect the outputs to the
oscilloscope being certain to connect GND to GND between the Oscilloscope and ALT-300. The GND on the
ALT-300 is common with the AC Power ground connection. Most oscilloscopes also have their input ground pin
common with the AC power ground of the oscilloscope. Please make sure that the grounds are connected properly.
Application:
The function generator can be used to generate input stimuli waveforms for all types of digital and analog circuits.
It should be noted however that for triggering TTL and compatible gates the negative portion of the square wave
should be removed. This can be accomplished by using a comparator or clipping circuit.

Figure 9
Specifications:
Input Impedance: 8 ohms
Power: 0.25 watt
Operation:
Connect the signal to the input market "+" and "-" speaker input. The input should not exceed 0.25 watt. (V less
than 2.83 Vrms, 4 Vpeak, or 8 Vp-p)
Pre-Operation Check:
1. Connect the "~" sine function generator output to the "+" speaker input.
2. Connect the GND of the function generator to the "-" speaker input.
3. Set the frequency range switch to the "X100" position and slowly increase the amplitude control until the
speaker sounds.
Application:
For exercising the audio experiment, use the speaker as the output load. When there has some
Response, sound can be heard from the speaker.

SECTION 6 : MAINTANANCE
WARNING
Remove power prior for performing maintenance on equipment. Failure to do so can cause serious
injury to personnel.
Maintenance consists of fuse replacement, calibration adjustment procedures, and periodic cleaning. Performing the
calibration and adjustment procedures only by Authorized Service Engineer, otherwise the warranty will void.
CAUTION
The following procedures should only be performed by persons trained and qualified in electronics and
electronic equipment service. Do not attempt these procedures if not qualified.
6-1 : Fuse Replacement
1) Ensure AC power is disconnected from equipment.
2) Turn to back of ALT-300 and locate the fuse package.
3) Open the fuse cover and remove the dysfunction fuse.
4) Replace with the same type and style fuse of 3A, 250V or equal specifications.
6-2 : Cleaning
The ALT-300 can be cleaned with a dry, soft cloth to remove any oil, grease, or grime from the equipment.
Never use liquid solvents or detergents. If the equipment got wet for any reason, dry using low pressure air (less
than 25 PSI). Use care and caution around areas where water or air could enter the interior of the equipment while
drying.
