WELCOME EXHIBITORS! We're looking forward to seeing you in April!

WHERE: Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave., Paso Robles, CA

DIRECTIONS: See map on next page


Paso Robles Event Center is just SW of the HWY 101 and HWY 46E junction.
Drive west on 24th St.
Left onto Riverside Ave.
Left onto Gregory Ave. (Gregory Ave. borders the southern end of the fairgrounds).
Gregory Ave. swings left and parallels HWY 101. Keep going through the gates.
Turn left in front of the new barn to unload.

PARKING: After dropping off goats and equipment, please park in Lot H. Do not breach traffic barriers or park in
fire lanes.

EXITING: The “Shell entrance” will be off limits as well, so you will need to exit the way you came in.

SHOW RING: The show will be on the west end of the Hearst Equestrian Center.

BREAKS: At the discretion of the judges and show committee, the show order may be continuous in Ring #1
without a lunch break. In other words, Ring #1 will continue on into the Junior Doe Show
immediately after finishing the Recorded Grade Best of Breed in the Senior Doe Show. The Best
Senior Doe in Show will not be selected in Ring #1 until Ring #2 has finished with the Best of Breeds
and is ready to pick Best in Show. Ring #1 will then take a break from judging Junior does and select
Best Senior Doe in Show. Judges may also choose to break for dinner.

FRIDAY: We do offer Friday arrival and check-in, please see the show flyer.

CLIPPING: “Fuzzy-wuzzy” goats are welcome. If you do clip your goats, please clip them at home.

SHAVINGS: Please bring your own bedding or purchase it from us. Straw is not allowed. See the flyer for more
information.

FEED: A small amount of alfalfa hay will be available for purchase at the show. Water is available for stock.

FOOD: We will not be offering food or drinks. Please plan ahead and bring several meals and drinks for your
show team. The area around the fairgrounds does have several restaurants to choose from, including
some that allow ordering ahead for pick up.

RAFFLE: We are excited to host our raffle as always! Please bring raffle donations to the raffle area.

CHILDREN: Please speak to your children before arriving about the dangers of running around livestock.

WEATHER: April is generally very pleasant in Paso Robles but check the weather before your visit. You can
usually count on cool mornings and evenings, as well as some wind. Arenas and stalls are covered.

HEALTH: All animals must be in apparent good health. Animals with visible abscesses or obvious contagious
diseases such as soremouth, pinkeye, or ringworm will be asked to leave. Entries will not be refunded.
Decisions made by the show committee are final. Please examine your stock before leaving home!

This show is sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and their rules shall govern. Only ADGA,
American Goat Society and Canadian Goat Society registered, recorded, or applied-for animals may be shown in an official
ADGA show. Health papers are not required; however, animals not in apparent good health will be asked to leave.

The Jr. & Sr. Doe Shows will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 and are separately sanctioned by ADGA for the following
breeds: Alpine, LaMancha, Oberhasli, Nubian, AOP, Toggenburg, Recorded Grade, and Nigerian Dwarf. Ages will be
computed as of April 26, 2024.

The Buck Show will also be Saturday, April 27, 2024, and is ADGA Sanctioned for the following breeds: Nigerian
Dwarf and AOP. Ages will be computed as of April 26, 2024.

ENTRY FEES: $7.50 per Doe/Buck per Show


$15.00 per Doe/Buck per Show late entry (postmarked or entered in Showman after April 24, 2024)
FREE Showmanship (postmarked or entered in Showman by April 24, 2024)
FREE Embedded Youth Show (no additional fee beyond entry fees)

STALL FEES: $10.00 per stall. Stall fee includes clean-up after the show but does not include bedding.
Stalls are on a first-come first-serve basis.

SHAVINGS: $12.00 per bag. Shavings will be available for purchase or you may bring your own. Please purchase
in Showman or with your hard copy entry. Our fairgrounds does NOT allow straw for bedding.

ONLINE ENTRIES/PAYMENTS: Online entries and payments will be offered through Showman and must be made on or
before April 24, 2024. Entries after April 26, 2024 will be assessed late fees as described above.

HARDCOPY ENTRIES/PAYMENTS: Postmark by Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Payments must accompany entries. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS GIVEN! Checks refused by the bank will be
charged a $35.00 handling fee. Bad checks not made good within one month will be subject to legal action. If you
passed a bad check in the past, expect to pay only cash this year.

PAPERS: All papers must be shown during check-in, before the start of the show. Don't forget your papers!
**We will accept papers in accordance with the ADGA rules in force on the day of the show.
Exhibitors and parents/guardians of exhibitors are responsible for understanding ADGA rules.**

AWARDS: ADGA rosettes will be awarded to all Senior Grand Champions, Reserve Senior Grand Champions,
Junior Grand Champions and Reserve Junior Grand Champions in the doe divisions and Grand
Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Buck divisions. Special awards will be presented to Best in
Show Senior Does, Best in Show Junior Does and Best in Show Bucks and Junior Grand Champion
Buck. Special awards will be given for Youth Showmanship and the Embedded Youth Show.

Exhibitors will be responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury, or damage arising from any animal owned by
them or any child belonging to them. Neither the Mid-State Dairy Goat Show Association nor the Paso Robles Event
Center will be liable for illness, injury, loss or damage to animals, persons, or property. Exhibitors agree to these terms
upon submitting entries to the Mid-State Dairy Goat Show.

Best Junior Doe of Show
EMBEDDED YOUTH DOE SHOW:

1. Rules of the Mid-State Dairy Goat show will apply to all youth entered in the Mid-State Dairy Goat Show (MSDGS)
Embedded Youth Show.

2. In order to be eligible for entry in the Embedded Youth Show, youth must be 19 years and younger on April 27, 2024.

3. All animals entered in the Embedded Youth Show must be entered in the open MSDGS. Youth cannot enter only the
Embedded Youth Show.

4. Youth entering the MSDGS Embedded Youth Show must be the sole owner of the animals they are entering and their
name must be the only one listed on the ADGA registration papers.

5. All animals entered in the MSDGS Embedded Youth Show must be shown by the owner. In the case of multiple entries
in the same class, the youth may designate another youth to show the other class entries. The youth assigned to show must
meet age requirements as stated in Rule 2 above.

6. Under the judge assigned to judge the MSDGS Embedded Youth show, there will be the selection of the youth-owned
Best Senior Doe and youth-owned Best Junior Doe in each of the offered breeds. First place youth-owned animals will
return to the ring for the selection of Youth Best Junior and Best Senior Doe. Best Youth from each breed will compete for
Best Youth Senior Doe in Show and for Best Youth Junior Doe in Show.
