Pramukh Stone Quarry, is located No.29/Paiki 2, Village: Sonarpada, Taluka: Songadh, District: THpi-Gefarat State, M/s. Pramukh Stone Quarry, Lease granted vide letter dated 08/01/2008. Application for renewal is already done. The lease area comprises of Private Non-Agriculture Land (03.05.00 ha). This quarry is under operation and method of working is semi mechanized open cast mining. Present rate of production is 80,000 MTPA. Proposed rate of production is 1,00,000 MTPA. The project cost is Rs. 17 Crore. Basalt (Black Trap) deposits are source for demand in construction work at all sectors. Songadh basalt deposits are huge source for construction works in Tapi and surrounding districts. Moreover the production of this project has utilized in construction of road making in Gujarat The mining projects located within 500 meters from the periphery of the our project or activity exceeds 25 ha, hence it is treated as Category ‘B’ Project and to be dealt at the level of SEIAA, Gujarat, thus Environmental Clearance for the project is to be grant by the State Level Impact Assessment Authority; as per EIA Notification dated 14.09.2006 & as amended from time to time. 2. PURPOSE OF THE REPORT Basalt (Black Trap) deposits are source for demand in construction work at all sectors. Sonarpada basalt deposits are huge source for construction works in Tapi and surrounding districts. Moreover, the production of this project has utilized in construction of road making in Gujarat. Mining Industry contributes significantly to its economy. The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) contribution of mining industry varies from 2.2% to 2.5% only but total industrial sector contributes around 10% to 11%. Even small scaled mining contributes 6% to the entire cost of minerals production. The working mine contribute in the State’s minerals production and improve the GDP with a positive & important effect on the region. 5. DEMAND - SUPPLY: As black tarp is used as raw material in construction of building and infrastructure projects, the Demand of the Black Trap is increasing day by day because of the rapid industrialization and Urbanization. In the present scenario the supply is very less compared to the demand, The supply of Greet & Kapachi of particular lease will be nearest development area like Songadh, Vyara and other cities. This material also supplied in Government Road & Infrastructure work via contractor for the same. —_—_———————— PRAMUKH STONE QUARRY Page 4 Scanned with CamScanner6. ASPECTS OF PROJECT The principle impacting aspects associated with stone minins project is as under: 1, Aim emissions 2. Transportation and Handing Material 3. Onsite occupation health, Hazards and safety. 7. PROJECT DESCRIPTION WITH PROCESS DETAILS Method for developing and working the deposits Proposed method of mining will be opencast by forming proper benches. The mining is proposed as per present situation of the deposit. Proposed mining is with simple hand tools. Hydraulic excavator/loader are proposed for removal of mineral and for loading of mineral and waste by blasting as and when required. The haul/ approach roads will be provided up to the proposed working, site services, site of dump and site of stock from the nearest tar road. The mineral and waste are proposed to transport by tractor trolley and tippers. The mining will be carried out by opencast method by developing the bench height and width 6 meters each. Process Flow Chart of Mining | Top Soil & O. B Removal | Drilling | | Blasting | | Loading | | | Transportation to Processing Plant. The proposed operations will be carried out by open cast semi-mechanized method. The salient features of proposed mining method are: 1, The excavation will be carried out by blasting, loading and transportation. 2, Average 40 m depth has been considered for probable category as Indicated Mineral Resource of Black Trap Resource. —————— PRAMUKH STONE QUARRY. Page 5 Scanned with CamScanner3. Specific Gravity of Black Trap is considered as 2.76 (As 4. Recovery of Black Trap is 80% of total in situ rocks. 5. The proposed working by putting 32 mm dia. holes and blasted by ammonium nitrate mixed cartridge explosives. The excavated material loaded by Excavator in dumper/truck for transported upto processing plant or consumer. Mining Consideration - Mining is proposed by semi mechanized opencast method. The benches of maximum 10.0 m, height will be formed. Width of the benches will not be less than height of benches. The excavation is done with JCB and Tipper. The proposed method of blasting is controlled blasting to take utmost care for safety of man and material in and around blasting zone of 500 meter periphery. —— PRAMUKH STONE QUARRY Page 7 Scanned with CamScannerheight of benches if it exceeds the permissible limit. It has been observed and tested that the tock is hard enough to withstand for quite a long duration till the life of mine. 8. ASSETS INFORMATION 1, SITE SERVICES: There is mine office near th pit top and all the basic facilities will be available including Canteen, Rest Shelter, Toilets, and Washroom etc. 2. EMPLOYMENT POTENTIAL:- For a Black Trap mine, Technical and other staff and Man Power required are as follows: (1) Mining Engineer / Mines Manager/Geologist One (Part Time) @) Mines Foreman NIL G) Mining Mate One (4) Driver Two (3) Watch men One (©) Skilled Worker Two Semi Skilled (2) Driller One (8) Unskilled Worker Four Total 12 Manpower required and other manpower is on contractual basis as & when required. It is proposed to appoint a Mining Engineer —part time who will look after all the technical aspects of execution of mining plan of quarry area. 3. DOMESTIC / EXPORT MARKETS: Black Trap produced is used locally as well as distributed in nearby area. So there is a huge market of Black Trap in the local market. The supply of Greet & Kapachi of particular lease will be nearest development area like Songadh, Vyara and other cities. This material also supplied in Government Road & Infrastructure work via contractor for the same. 10. PROJECT BENEFITS M/s, Pramukh Stone Industries will be one of the suppliers of black rubble. The mining and associated activities bring about infrastructural development, i.e., roads are constructed, schools and hospitals are established, and communication facilities are developed, etc., which tend to improve the quality of life of the complexes. Approximately 10 people get direct & indirect employment due to the project activity. The mining and associated activities offer opportunities of employment to the eligible people from the ethnic population. The Project Affected People (PAPs) are given jobs and are trained for self-employment as a result of the provisions in the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R & R) schemes. —_—— PRAMUKH STONE QUARRY Page 10 Scanned with CamScannerrap Quarry
