Welcome!
You have elected to be in this class because of your interest in Jewelry
Making or as a required elective. Either way It is my goal to work with you on a
daily basis to help you learn & improve your knowledge and abilities in Jewelry
Making and Design. In your acquisition and development of skills, I expect you to
apply yourself with maximum effort. Remember, it is called artwork because it is
work- not talent alone. This course emphasizes making jewelry as an ongoing
process, where critical thinking and informed decision-making give meaning to
hands-on production.
Your marking period grade will be based on the following items:
60% Summative Projects – includes assigned projects, tests & quizes
40% Participation – includes participation in introductory lessons, daily work,
clean up, and critiques at the conclusion of a lesson.
Your course final grade includes a midterm and final exam or project.
I look forward to a great semester.
