PROFESSIONAL REFLECTION / JOURNAL

Goal Setting:

To equip my students for long-term success, my goal is to address the challenges posed
by modernization, such as the prevalence of mobile gaming, social media distractions, and
online applications. I aim to cultivate resilience, critical thinking, and self-regulation skills in my
students to help them navigate and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Daily Reflections:

Teaching in the era of modernization presents unique challenges, particularly in


combating the distractions posed by technology. Despite these challenges, I remain committed
to engaging my students and fostering a positive learning environment. Today, I observed the
pervasive influence of mobile gaming on student attention spans, highlighting the importance of
implementing innovative teaching strategies to capture their interest and focus.

Skills Development:

One area requiring focused attention is the improvement of students' reading


comprehension skills, which currently lag below average levels. I will incorporate interactive and
engaging reading activities into my lessons, provide targeted support to struggling readers, and
collaborate with colleagues to implement effective literacy interventions.

Feedback and Evaluation:

The lack of adequate facilities and support presents a significant barrier to student
learning and teacher effectiveness. I will advocate for increased resources and infrastructure to
create a conducive learning environment. Additionally, I will seek feedback from students,
parents, and colleagues to identify areas for improvement and address their concerns
proactively.

Professional Growth:

Despite the challenges faced, there are limited opportunities for professional
development that align with the immediate needs of the school. I will explore alternative
avenues for growth, such as online courses, workshops, and peer collaboration, to enhance my
teaching skills and stay abreast of current educational trends and best practices.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, I am committed to upholding the mission and vision of the Department of


Education (DepEd) by providing quality education and nurturing the holistic development of my
students. Despite the obstacles presented by modernization and resource limitations, I will
persevere in my efforts to empower and inspire the next generation of learners.
