Unpacking the Card Delivery System

It is important to detect and document shipping damage as soon as
possible. If damage to the shipping crate is evident, inspect the system
inside and contact your authorized Entrust representative if equipment
is damaged.

Uncrating the System

 Before uncrating, make sure there is enough room in front of the
crate for the system to be rolled out.. Then follow steps 2 through 5.

Connecting the MXD110/210 to an MX Series
System
Use the following procedures to connect the MXD110/210 machine to
an existing MX Series system. If the site is adding an MXD110/210 to
an existing MX Series system, the Card Output module must first be
prepared.

 Sites installing both a new MX Series system and a new MXD110/210

do not use this procedure. The Card Output module was prepared
before shipping. If the systems were shipped together, proceed to
page 10.

Preparing the MX Series for Card Delivery

If the site is adding an MXD110/210 to an existing MX Series system, an
attachment kit (564353-001) with screws and two mounting blocks is
supplied in the shipment.

1. Shut down the Controller and turn off the power. Disconnect the
power cords.
2. To prevent the MX Series system from moving, lock the brakes by
pressing the down side of the casters.

3. Remove panels on the MX Series Card Output module as described

below.
A. Remove the front panel (1) by rotating the locking tab at the
bottom of the panel and lifting the panel off the frame.
B. Remove the rear panel (2) by lifting it up and off the keyhole
openings.
C. Remove the rear upper cover (3) by removing two screws from
the back and one from the front. Then slide the cover backward
off the pin.
D. Remove the end panel (4) by removing four screws from the
inside of the module and lifting the end panel off the tabs.

 If an auxiliary fan is on the Card Output module, remove it and
save the fans as replacement fans for the ones in the Folder
module.

4. Remove the two side brackets (1) on the Card Output module and
store them on the frame.

Page 8 of Unpacking and Installation Instructions Part Number 539875-001, Rev G

5. Install the first mounting block (2) from the kit to the rear set of
holes in the Card Output frame. Use two screws from the kit to
secure the block. Bias the block tightly against the side of the frame
and tighten the screws.
6. Install the other mounting block (3) to the side front, placing one
screw from the kit through the front hole in the output tray rail to
secure it on top and another through the block to the side of the
module.

7. Loosen the three screws that attach the outer rail on the left side of
the module to make room for the screw that attaches the
MXD110/210 system at block 3. You may need to completely remove
the screw closest to the back to expose the screw hole.

Page 9 of Unpacking and Installation Instructions Part Number 539875-001, Rev G

8. Save the remaining screws from the kit for attaching the MXD110/210
to the Card Output module later.

Removing Sticker Applicator Module Panels

Use the following procedures to remove the front and rear panels
from the Sticker Applicator module.
1. Raise the module’s hood (1 in the following figure).
2. Loosen, but do not remove, the single retaining screw in a slotted
opening (6) at the bottom of the front panel (2).
3. Lift the front panel up and forward off the keyhole openings (7) held
by two screws on the frame.
4. Loosen, but do not remove, the bottom two retaining screws (4) at
the bottom of the rear panel (5).
5. While standing behind the system, grasp the open hood on both
sides just above the hinges, and then lift up slightly and pull back to
remove the hood and rear panel assembly keyhole slots (3) from the
two screws on the module frame.
6. Lay the hood/rear panel assembly on its side on a piece of
cardboard to avoid scratching the clear plastic.

Attaching the Systems
1. Remove the four mounting screws from a bag attached to the
Sticker Applicator frame.
2. Carefully roll the MXD110/210 system to the Card Output module and
line up the alignment pins on the Sticker Applicator module with the
holes in the Card Output module.

 Make sure the Ethernet cables are not pinched between the
modules.
3. When the two systems are together, insert the mounting screws at
each of the four corners of the Card Output module.

Page 11 of Unpacking and Installation Instructions Part Number 539875-001, Rev G

4. Connect the MXD110/210 to the blocks on the Card Output module
with the remaining screws from the kit using the longer screw in the
rear mounting block.

5. Place the outer rail of the card tray back in position (if it needed to
be removed) and tighten the three screws. (If necessary, perform the
Card Tray Width Adjustment described in the Card Output Module
Service Manual.)

Installing the Form Stacker
If the system has the MXi mailer option, no Form Stacker is required;
refer to the instructions in the MXi installation kit for installing that
option.

1. Secure the Form Stacker to the Folder module.

A. Loosen the four pre-installed screws on the underside of the
Form Stacker.
B. Move the Form Stacker into position, and place the four screws
into the slots to support the Form Stacker during the next step.
C. Connect the motor and sensor cable connectors from the Folder
module to the Form Stacker.
D. Push the Form Stacker toward the Folder so that the four screws
go to the ends of the slots, and then tighten the four mounting
screws.

2. Using the pre-installed screws, install the exit guide fingers to the
Folder module. Note that the sensor cable rests on top of the guide.

Installing the HP M806 Printer

For information regarding the installation and configuration of the
LaserJet M806 printer, refer to the HP M806 Printer Field Installation
Guide (Part No. 527512-001).

 This printer requires the printer dongle to be installed in a USB port

on the system Controller before the Controller is powered up. The
printer dongle is provided with the Controller software.

printer. The excess cable is rolled up inside the Sticker Applicator
module.
5. Pull the excess cable out of the Sticker Applicator opening.
6. Thread the Ethernet cable through the hole in the Card Output
module and through the cable channel at the front of the MX Series
system to the Controller Ethernet switch.

7. Connect the cables to the Ethernet switch box on the Controller.

8. Plug the Y power cable into an electrical socket near the equipment.
9. Push all the cables up under the buffer adapter and, if necessary,
secure them with the wire routing standoffs.
10. Before reinstalling the panels on the system, inspect all cable
connectors to ensure they did not pull loose during shipment.
