I. Preparation and Setup:
1. Press in the cassette flow regulator to ensure it is closed and confirm no flow
during priming.

2. Insert the piercing pin into the outlet on the fluid container using a twisting
motion.

3. Suspend the container on the IV pole. Squeeze to fill the drip chamber to the
score mark, avoiding overfilling.

4. If using a rigid fluid container, open the filter vent cover above the drip chamber.

5. If using a flexible plastic container, confirm that the vent cover is closed.

II. Priming the Cassette:
6. Invert the cassette so the secondary port is pointing down. Open the flow
regulator counterclockwise while holding the cassette inverted.

7. Turn the cassette upright when the first drop appears in the pumping chamber.
Continue priming until all air is removed from the cassette and tubing.

8. Tap the cassette, Y-sites, and tubing to dislodge air bubbles. Remove the cap if
the filter at the distal patient end gets wet during priming.

9. Push in the flow regulator to close after priming. Confirm no flow and check for
kinks in the tubing.

10. If flow or leaks are observed, close all clamps and replace the administration set.

III. Cassette Door Operation:
11. Lift the lever to open the cassette door. Grasp the cassette by the finger grip and
slide it between the door guides.

12. Press the lever down to close the cassette door. For Plum 360, insert the proximal
line into Line A tubing guide.
