• ADVERBS ARE THOSE PARTS
OF SPEECH THAT MODIFY A
VERB, ADJECTIVE, A CLAUSE,
OR ANOTHER ADVERB. They
provide context in a sentence by
describing how, when, where
Some examples are: quickly,
actually, fast, etc.

• Types of adverbs

ADVERBS • These are some common types


of adverbs:
• Adverb of place
• Adverb of time
• Adverb of manner
• Adverb of degree
• Adverb of frequency
• Interrogative adverbs
• Relative adverbs
TYPES OF • Adverbs of place: These adverbs answer the

question "where" or "at what place" something
happens. E.g.: downstairs, everywhere, here, etc.
Adverbs to adjective table • Adverbs of time: These adverbs answer the

degree. E.g.: very, quite, etc.
-le -y(replacing the "e") able; ably

• Adverbs of frequency: These describe how often


something happens. E.g.: always, never, etc.
-ic -ally Chaotic;
chaotically
• Interrogative adverbs: They are used to
introduce a question. E.g.: when, where, etc.
Irregular No change Fast; fast
(flat adverbs)
• Relative adverbs: they use "when," "where," and
"why" to introduce dependent or relative clauses
No adjective -adverbial- never
