Dear Parents,

As we get ready to welcome the students to the new academic session 2024-25 starting on Wednesday, 10 April 2024,
we would like to draw your attention to the selection of Morning Sports Club and SUPW Activity for your ward.
To us, at Vivek High, the focus on the mental well being, social interaction and pursuit of interests has always been
important. With this objective and in keeping with the needs of the educational pedagogies; we have aligned and
expanded the Morning Sports Clubs and SUPW activities as follows -

Morning Sports Club SUPW Activities

Class IV, V & Every Wednesday & Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to Every Thursday & Friday from 3:00 p.m. to
VI 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.

Class VII, Every Monday & Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 Every Thursday & Friday from 3:00 p.m. to
VIII, IX & X a.m. 4:00 p.m.

A summary of the activities has been listed for easy referral. Please help your ward make an informed choice after
discussing the options with your ward. Kindly fill the forms giving choice 1 & 2. Please note that no changes will be
allowed in the choices for Morning Club and SUPW after the submission of form.

THE LIST OF CHOICES FOR SUPW ACTIVITIES ALONG WITH A SHORT DESCRIPTION ARE AS
UNDER:
1. The Page Turners – Book Club
Students will read, discuss, learn, interpret, stories, texts, poems, authors, etc in the club.

2. Fusion Force – Science Club


Activity based experiments, hands on ‘seeing the magic of Science’, in Space, time, and the world
we live in will engage the students in the club.

3. Binary Matters – Computer Science Club


Content will include analysis, computing, cyber safety, new apps and platforms, Artificial Intelligence,
animation, cryptocurrency, people who changed technology, future of technology, etc.

4. Vitafit – Food and Nutrition


Healthy Eating, Living & Diet, Food Deficiency will be some common concepts that will be included
along with easy recipes, home remedies for common ailments. World cuisines – common ingredients,
different ingredients, styles and techniques of cooking will provide a more comprehensive appreciation
of food.

5. Good Vibes Only – Modern Dance


The activity will include dance, music appreciation, movements, genres and dance exercises.

6. Textiles, Weaving and Handiwork


Needle work, crochet, knitting, stitching for beginners, jewellery design, flower decoration will be some of
the design activities. Keeping alive a traditional form of handicraft, the students will weave colourful and
intricate patterns and shape strings into mats, cushions, etc on looms.

7. Earth Warriors - Eco Club


It will empower students to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects. It is a
forum through which students can reach out to influence, engage their parents and neighborhood
communities to promote sound environmental behavior and practices.

8. Green Ninjas - Recycling


The school has been a front runner in recycling paper and has an inhouse recycling plant, where paper is
converted into beautiful coloured sheets which are then used for the Founder’s cards and other events at
school. The students will learn about conservation, techniques of recycling and will make papier mache
items from the recycled paper.

9. Jhankaar - Indian Dance


Indian dance forms for creative expression through footwork, hand and eye coordination.

10. Balle – Balle - Bhangra


Folk dance from Punjab that is energetic, jovial and uplifts one’s spirits.

11. Sur Sangam – Indian Vocal Music & Tabla


Indian vocal music will include appreciation, understanding of ragas, learning and singing of songs.
No musical arrangement or composition is complete without the sound of the percussion instruments - the
tabla or the dhol. Students will learn the Indian instruments that have enthralled from time immemorial.
12. Western Music Vocals
This will include appreciation, understanding of musical notes, learning and singing of songs in English.

13. Strings & Tunes - Keyboard & Guitar


The keyboard and guitar are important instrument for Western or Indian musical arrangements. The students
will learn to have an appreciation for the keyboard and guitar, and play popular tunes.

14. Fingers at Work - Puppet Theatre, Art & Craft


Students will learn to make puppets, develop stories, enact, and present their creativity through this creative
self-expression using different mediums, materials, learning of design and craft techniques to engage and give
shape to the students’ imagination.

15. Artistic Expressions - Painting, Sketching, Art & Design


Students learn to express their creativity, get confident and focused with along with pursuing their interest in art
& design.

16. The Showstoppers - Theatre


Theatre hones the skills for speech, voice modulation, acting and stage presence and creates a life long love for
this form of creative expression.

17. The Orators - Debate & Public Speaking (only for Classes VII, VIII, IX & X)
Public speaking refers to speaking in a structured manner to an audience whereby the speaker intends to inform,
entertain or influence the listeners.
Debating is a well thought argument between two individuals or teams that stand as opponents with one in favor
of the topic and one against the topic. Both hone the skills for research, analysis, structured and relevant
discussions.

18. NCC - National Cadet Corps (only for girls classes VIII, IX & X)
Youth development programme to build leaders and useful citizens - exposure and opportunities for nation
building, duty, commitment, dedication, discipline, moral values, social service and adventure training.

19. EVA - Alumni Club (only for Classes IX & X)


The Alumni Club aims at providing a platform for the current students to assist in the running of the alumni
office, connect with their alumni network and be a part of the execution of the various alumni connect
programmes.

20. Model United Nations (only for Classes VIII, IX & X)


Model United Nations (MUN) simulations are popular exercises for those interested in learning more about
the UN. Students worldwide participate every year in MUN at all educational levels – from primary school to
university. Many of today’s leaders in law, government, business and the arts participated in MUN as
students.

21. Media Club (only for Classes IX & X)


Students will be will be a part of the team that creates, presents the school publications and points of
communication – newsletter, yearbook, website, publicity, inhouse displays and photography.

22. Pottery
Students will learn the process and the products of forming vessels and other objects with clay and other
raw materials, which are fired at high temperatures to give them a hard and durable form.

23. Film Making (only for classes VII, VIII, IX & X)


Students will learn the process by which a motion picture is produced. Also they will learn a number of
complex and discrete stages, beginning with an initial story, idea, or commission.

24. TechTikes – AI & Robotics


Artificial intelligence is a discipline that focuses on enabling machines to develop the same intellectual
capabilities as humans.
