Escape the Tech Trap: Embrace Nature

The author describes getting stuck focusing on her phone and technology instead of appreciating the natural beauty around her. During a family trip to Cambodia, her father scolds her for trying to use her phone inside a preserved temple. She then takes the time to look at her surroundings, noticing children playing and a lively community, things she had missed being trapped in the black hole of technology. The experience teaches her that without modern devices, people can find joy in simple things and interactions instead of getting lost in an endless stream of online information.

The black hole of technology

The black hole of technology is a blogpost about people that are focused on the internet that they

have forgotten to see the natural beauty of the outside world. The express about the endless

unimportant streams of technology. The author tells her story about her experience of being stuck

in the black hole of technology. She starts of by saying about how the first time realizing nice

weather outside when hanging out with her friends. Her family decided to visit Cambodia to see

the temples and it’s beauty. She walks into a Cambodian temple, she slips out her phone and

about to unlock it her dad says ‘‘Leena, your heading toward one of the most preserved temples in

the word. It would appreciate your surroundings.’’ Her dad scolded and snatched the phone out of

her hand. She starts looking at her surroundings. There were tents perched on the sides of the

sandy roads, and a couple of half-naked boys were jumping into a murky lake nearby. A toddler

was laughing her head off, play with an old man who I assumed was her grandfather. I missed all

of this liveliness, the beauty of a community, because I was trapped in the black hole of

technology. Everyone around me was smiling, despite having to live in poverty. Then she thought

maybe it’s because they don’t have modern technology. They aren’t subjected to the black hole of

endless information.
