Introduction to Single API Gateway
With the vCenter single API gateway, clients can manage their vCenter deployment through a
single and uniform RESTful API endpoint regardless of vCenter internal architecture, protocols,
and partitioning into services and nodes.

API Gateway Notification Service
The API gateway notification service (API-GW NS) is a simple message router that delivers
notifications from linked vCenter services to a client.

API Gateway Prerequisites
You must enable these switches on the API gateway:
• APIGW
• APIGW_NOTIFICATIONS
For beta release, enabling these switches is required. But for GA, these switches should be
enabled by default.

• Log name: apigw.log
