INTRODUCTION
This course is a continuation of Field Study . It is
school based and allows a pre- service student to
participate and assist in limited actual teaching-
learning activities that relate to assessment of
learning, preparation of instructional materials and
other routines in the classroom. Field study and
student teaching is an experiential learning
approach for students under the teaching
profession. It allows students to experience the
actual classroom environment to behaviorally
understand the characteristics and nature of the
learners and its learning environment . it exposes
them to the pedagogical paradigm of the teachers in
the classroom for them to develop effective
mechanism for the experiential learning component
of pre- service teaching education.

Week 1 Journal
October 03, 2023

On October 3, 2024, our first day in observation

in NEUST Laboratory High School located at
General Tinio St., Cabanatuan City. In my first
day in observation, I already observed the
different behavior of grade 7 students. And also
I observed that the studens are very active and
participative during the class. And also I
observed our resource teacher wherein how to
handle their learners and also what teaching
strategies did she use.

On October 10, Our second week in our observation. This

day I consider a learning experience and very productive
day. We give an assisstant of Our Resource Teacher to
organize the different tools and equipment of Home
Economics Room or TLE Room and to help Ma’am Jody to clean
the TLE Room. The tools and equipment in cooking are
complete wherein the students who will cook can occupy. As
you can see in the picture, the space is bigger than other
facilities. And also we help Ma’am Jody to getting ready
in this coming exam.
Week 3 Journal
October 17, 2023

On october 17, our third week in our

observation. We are here in the faculty
room. We checked the test papers of our
students. The result of their exam are
excellence because most of them are
getting a high score. But some of them are
not following the instruction but Ma’am
give them a consideration.
Week 4 Journal
October 24, 2023

On October 24, This is our 4th week in our

observation. Today is a university meet of the
NEUST but Ma’am Jody encourage to us to consume the
time to reduce our observation time. And also she
ask an assistant to us because she is a coach of
table tennis player in Laboratory High School. And
also we guide the students to do their
experimentation on the subject of ma’am Jody.
Week 5 Journal
November 7, 2023

On November 7, Our fifth day in our observation. I

observe the teacher intern, Ma’am Menchie. As the
teacher discussed the lesson, the students are
paying attention and listening to her. Afterwards,
she asked the students if someone could answer the
question about the topic they discussed yesterday
and many of the students raised their hands. The
students are actively participating in answering
the question. Students must engage in the
discussion for a better learning due to the
teacher and other factors affecting the learning
of the students. I had observed that they are
really willing to learn because almost all of them
are participating in the discussion of their
classmates.
Week 6 Journal
November 21, 2023

On October 21, This is our last day in our

observation. The class started with a prayer then greeted
their teacher including us FS students. After the
greeting and prayer, the teacher checked the attendance.
She also gave an activity which is related to the topic
and she instructed the students on what to do, after
receiving their activity sheets. She also monitored the
students on what they are doing and assisted those who
have queries. Giving an assessment after the discussion
can make the students learn more and the lessons will
remain on there mind.
Teaching Philosophy
A skilled educator has a thorough understanding of
pupils' growth and learning processes. I am aware
that students actively create and modify their own
knowledge using what they have learned and
experienced in the past. I am aware that not every
kid learns at the same pace or in the same manner.
In my opinion, it is my duty as a teacher to
effectively diagnose the interests, skills, and
prior knowledge of my students. The next step is
for me to design lessons that will push each kid
intellectually and give them the opportunity to
develop.

A competent teacher, in my opinion, should also be

aware of how peer interactions affect learning and
motivation. I never sort my pupils or put them in a
competitive environment because I want every one of
them to perform at a high level. Since social
interaction is how most learning occurs, I design
my lessons so that for the most of the class
period, students cooperate and work in a productive
manner.

An effective teacher must be knowledgeable about

the things she teaches as well as how to support
students in learning them. I am aware that an
effective teacher needs to have an in-depth
comprehension of the discipline's methods of
knowledge creation, organization, and connections
to other fields of study. By using my expertise in
the field, I encourage my pupils to think
critically and to apply, analyze, synthesize, and
assess all they read and hear. I have a passion
for the subjects I teach, and I can help my pupils
understand them.
Without being a student themselves, a skilled
teacher is unable to start or sustain inspiring
learning. A competent teacher must stay up to date
on the latest developments in their field. Actually,
new knowledge is frequently created by skilled
teachers. I have to constantly reevaluate and
develop my teaching strategies in order to live up
to this concept. I have to be a student of society
and the dynamic environments that my students live
in if I'm going to stay in touch with them, their
lives, and the institutions where they will pursue
their careers. As my pupils study with me, I gladly
and eagerly absorb new information from them.

A teacher, in my opinion, is the most influential role

model. I am constantly conscious of my incredible
responsibility to "walk my talk" with my students. I
have to live up to their ideals and passions if I want
them to. I typically receive the best since I have high
expectations for both myself and other people. I make an
effort to treat everyone with respect and dignity, and I
expect the same behavior from my students.

Even though I've written a teaching philosophy, I

actually think that learning and assisting others in
learning is a more appealing concept than teaching.
Information sharing, which is, in my opinion, merely the
start of teaching and most definitely only a small
portion of learning, is what I think many of us have
come to accept as a working meaning of the term. It is
quite simple to confuse learning with memorization of
knowledge when someone is imparting it. Since learning
necessitates thought, memorization is not necessarily
equivalent to learning. I am starting to realize that
the ability to inspire students to think critically and
subsequently aspire to learn more is the teacher's
greatest gift to them.
I think that asking questions and using
questioning techniques might provoke
thought. I make it a point to pose
questions that have no definitive "right"
solutions. Since asking insightful
questions is the most effective tool a
teacher can employ to support student
learning, I'm always trying to improve as
a "questioner."

Last but not least, I think a teacher

exists to serve. Teaching is a profession
committed to knowledge acquisition,
student achievement, discipline, and
creating the best possible future for all
of us. When I decided to become a teacher,
I took up these challenges. I'm still
devoted to them.

A good teacher is like a candle—it

consumes itself to light the way for
others.
