Applications (in prescribed format available in the University website: wwww.osou.ac.in) are invited from eligible candidates to fill up faculty positions permitted vide Order No. 4478/HE dt.01.02.2024. The last date for submission of application, complete in all respect is 13.03.2024, 5 pm. IFOR THE POSTS OF PROFESSOR(S) AND ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR(S): Eligibility: + The vacant posts of Professor(s) and Associate Professor(s) will be filled up on temporary basis by retired Professors / Associate Professors / Adjunct Professor / Emeritus Professor / Professor of Practice etc. only. * The Adjunct Faculty and the Professors of Practice will be selected as per existing UGC Guidelines. * The retired teachers could be from any Govt, Aided or Private Higher Education Institution of the Country possessing appropriate qualification prescribed by UGC for different categories. + Retired teachers below the age of 70 years are eligible to apply for the above posts. Honorarium: * Rs. 50,000/- per month for Professor (at least 35 classes per month or equivalent as per ODL Regulations 2020 and guidance in research work including administrative responsibility). * Rs. 40,000/- per month for Associate Professor (at least 35 classes per month as per ODL Regulations 2020 and guidance in research work including administrative responsibility) * No other allowances or financial benefits shall be allowed in favour of the retired teachers/guest faculty. * If less than prescribed classes are undertaken by retired faculties, the honorarium shall be given proportionately or shortfall shall be adjusted against workload of immediate next month. * The Honorarium for Adjunct Faculty and the Professors of Practice will be limited as per the maximum monthly honorarium limit as detailed above. In addition, for adjunct faculty or Professors of practice visiting from outside the jurisdiction of the university, applicable TA and moderate accommodation will be provided by the University, ry, Lge Page 1 ofODISHA STATE OPEN UNIVERSITY, SAMBALPUR ll) FOR THE POSTS OF GUEST FACULTY(S) / ASSISTANT PROFESSOR(S): Eligibility: Against the vacant posts of Assistant Professors, both retired Assistant Professors and fresh/in-service candidates having requisite qualifications can apply. Qualifications for fresh candidates: 1. A good academic record with a minimum of 55% of marks (or an equivalent grade) at Master's Degree level in the relevant subject from a recognized University, 2. Ph.D in the relevant subject. 3. Non Ph.D may also be considered Note: A relaxation of 5% shall be given (1.e. 50% of marks instead of 55% marks) at Master's Degree level for the candidates belonging to SC/ST and differently-abled categories, Honorarium: * Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only) per class (with Ph.D. qualification) Maximum numbers of classes will remain limited to the numbers as prescribed in the ODL Regulations 2020. * Rs. 750/- (Rupees seven hundred fifty only) per class (without Ph.D. qualification) No other allowance or financial benefit shall be allowed in favour of the Guest Faculty. ll) SELECTION PROCESS: All the categories of posts shall be filled-up through a duly constituted Selection Committee. The selection shall be made through evaluation of candidates based on the criteria as in given ‘Annexure-1’. Other Terms and Conditions (applicable for all categories of posts): * The engagement will not confer any right to claim for the post on regular basis. + The engagement will be for a maximum period of one year or till the vacancies. are filled in regular manner, whichever is earlier. * The continuation of engagement shall be subject to satisfactory performance during the quarterly review. * In case retired teachers are engaged, they can continue up to 70 years of age, subject to periodical review of satisfactory performance. * The University can terminate the engagement any time without assigning any reason thereof.
