Measuring tool is used to measure the different
length. It is used for taking body measurement.
We have the tape measure, and the ruler.
a) Tape measure it is 60 inches long and
should be marked on both sides.

drawing lines and marking fabrics.
Drafting tools are used for drafting we have an
L-square, hip curve, and French curve.
a) L-square – an L-shaped which is used to
create scaled patterns.
b) Hip curve it is used for shipping the hips
and skirt hemline.
c) French curve used to shape necklines,
collars and armholes.
Marking tools used to transfer marking from
patterns onto fabric. We have tracing wheel,
tailor’s chalk, and carbon paper.
a) Tailor’s chalk comes in triangular or
square shape and in different colors and
used as a marker for materials that will
not show the marks made by a tracer or
when a tracer is not available.
b) Tracing wheel made of steel and sharp
saw-like points on single wheel used to
mark the part of the material that will not
be cut.
Cutting tools used for cutting the fabric, we
have a scissor. Also we have the different variety
of scissors the trimming scissors used for
trimming, the embroidery scissors for
embroidery work and the buttonhole scissors
intended for making button holes.
Lastly, the sewing tools we have here are the
thread and the needle.
G. Abstraction:
Why do we need to know the “Ma’am, for me, we need to know and become

we have ripped clothes in our homes, we can be
able to sew it appropriately with the use of the
right tools.”
