Solar System Travel Brochure

Welcome to the year 2050! Humans now have the ability to travel
anywhere they want to in the solar system. Earthlings travel at the speed
of light and have advanced equipment to keep them safe and comfortable
as they visit the vast array of celestial bodies in our solar system.

Your mission is to create a travel brochure to promote the incredible


destinations our solar system has to offer. You will use facts about objects
in the solar system, promote your tour, and plan activities for tourists
while they vacation in space.

Directions
Use a large sheet of paper or white construction paper. Fold it into fourths
so that you have eight sections (front and back.)

Submission Due on: Wednesday, April 10, 2024


Section 1: Cover
● Write a creative name for your tour and an attractive and interesting
illustration.
● Write a creative name for your tour company.

Section 2: Terrestrial Planet


Choose a rocky, inner planet (not Earth)
Include in this section:
● Illustration of planet
● Name of planet
● Distance from the sun
● Orbital period (How long is a year on this planet?)
● Rotation period (How long is a day on this planet?)
● Degree of tilt
● How much a 125-pound person would weigh on the planet
● Size of planet
● Temperature of planet
● Moon(s) of the planet
● Activities on the planet
● What people should bring with them on the tour

Section 3: Asteroid Belt


Include in this section:
● Illustration of the asteroid belt in space
● Name of four largest asteroids
● Sizes of asteroids
● What asteroids are made up of
● Fun things to do on the tour of an asteroid
Section 4: Jovian Planet
Choose a an gas giant outer planet
Include in this section:
● Illustration of planet
● Name of planet
● Where planet is located in relation to other planets
● Distance from the sun
● Orbital period (How long is a year on this planet?)
● Rotation period (How long is a day on this planet?)
● Degree of tilt
● How much a 125-pound person would weigh on the planet
● Size of planet
● Temperature of planet
● Composition of the planet
● Moon(s) of the planet (If there are a ton, just choose 2-3 to highlight)
● Special features of the planet that a tourist would like to see
● What people should bring with them on the tour

Section 5: Comets
Include in this section:
● Illustration of a comet
● Chemical composition of comets
● Where comets are found
● The 3 parts of the comet
● 2 fun facts about comets
● Fun things to do on the tour of a comet
● What people should bring with them on the tour

Section 6: Free Choice


Choose any specific object in the solar system and include in this section:
● Illustration and name of the object
● Classification of the object (is it an asteroid, dwarf planet, moon,
comet, etc.)
● 5 fun facts about this object
● Fun things to do on this object.
Section 7: Pluto
Include in this section:
● Illustration of Pluto
● Why is Pluto classified as a dwarf planet?
● Distance from the sun
● Orbital period (How long is a year on this planet?)
● Rotation period (How long is a day on this planet?)
● How much a 125-pound person would weigh on Pluto
● Temperature of Pluto
● Moon of Pluto
● Fun things to do on Pluto

Section 8: Advertisement
Include in this section:
● Information about your travel agency
● Why tourists should choose your travel agency
● Special activities that tourists can do on your tour
● Prices
● Illustration of people taking the tour
● Be creative!
