(Matthew- 1&2 Corinthians)
There will be 2 parts of questions:
Part A: Simple Questions & Answers (Closed book test) Possible questions list
1. What is the Gospel? And what are the purposes of the Gospels (books)?
The Gospel is god’s news and the purposes were the theological biography, and to
proclaim Jesus is the Messiah and King. It also wants to persuade people to trust him
as their lord and savior.
2. What are the 4 Gospel books? And what are the 3 synoptic Gospels among
them?
4 gospel books are Luke, Mark, Matthew, and John. Matthew, Mark, and Luke are
synoptic gospels among them.
3. Please match with the right answers
(1) Matthew’s theme was to portray Jesus as (Messiah & King).
(2) Mark’s theme was to portray Jesus as a (Servant of God).
(3) Luke’s theme was to portray Jesus as (Son of Man).

6. What is unique about each book of the Bible? Write things you know about the
book. (Matthew - 1 Corinthians)
Matthew: only gospel that makes a direct mention of the church
Mark: shortest of the four gospels
Luke: only non-Jewish author of the scripture
John: covers a different period than others
Acts: the only biblical book that chronicles the history of the church immediately after Jesus's ascension.
Romans: the most complete summary of Christian doctrine.
1 Corinthians: contains a frank discussion of the church and the issues that impacted real people in the
first century.

7. Who is the key figure in Matthew’s genealogy of Jesus (Matthew 1:1-17) and
What was Matthew’s intent to put the genealogy of Jesus at the beginning of his
Gospel?

They kept quiet to argue about who was the greatest, and Jesus said if anyone
would be the first, he must be the last of all and servant of all.

those words tell us about Jesus’ view of Himself? (Mark 14:62-64)
He was a great holy god, and they all condemned him as worthy of death.
12. In Luke chapter 4, Satan tempts Jesus 3 times. How does Jesus answer him each
time? What can we learn from Jesus’ answers about how to overcome temptation?

14. What is Jesus’ purpose in reminding His followers of the Old Testament
prophecies (Luke 24:19-27, 24: 45-48)?
As the messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and also there
is repentance for the forgiveness of sins, you are the witnesses of these things.
15. Explain Jesus’ metaphor of the sheep and the shepherd in His relationship
with people. (John 10:7-18)
Jesus' metaphor of the sheep is just as the Father knows him and he knows the
Father and lays down his life for the sheep. And the reason why the Father loves
him is that he lay down his life, and this command was received from the Father.
16. How can we know God and His will better, according to Jesus? (John
12:44-50, John 1:14)
We have seen this glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the
Father, full of grace and truth. His command leads to eternal life.
17. Describe what happened on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-12). How can this
miracle be seen as a reversal of God’s judgment at the tower of Babel (Genesis 11:9)?
People wanted to be greater than God, God saw their evil thoughts, and they scattered
them around the world and languages. God is bringing all the nations in one, in Jesus
Christ through the holy spirit.
18. How did the first Christians live after being filled with the Holy Spirit? (Acts
2:42-47)?
Every day, they continued to meet together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God
and enjoying the favor of all the people.
19. How did the Sanhedrin react to Peter and John (Acts 4:10, 4:17-21)? How did their
reaction affirm what Peter and John were claiming?
He called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name
of Jesus, Peter and John were claiming that they could not punish them, because all
the people were praising God for what had happened.
20. Why was the Jerusalem Council so important (Acts 15:1-2, 15:23-24, 15:
28-29,15:31 )?
It was important because along with other believers, they were able to go up to
Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question. Also, they sent the
flowing letter, they read it and were glad for its encouraging message.
21. What was the purpose of the vision that Peter saw before he visited Cornelius and
why is Cornelius’ conversion significant for the early church? (Acts 10:11-15,
10:28,10:34-35, 10:44-48)
God repeated three times to say that the thing that God said was not impure, Peter
thought Jesus only gave the holy spirit to Jews, but Jesus gave the holy spirit to
everyone, not the Jews.
22. What caused the riot in Ephesus (Acts 19:23-41)? What does this episode tell us
about obstacles to evangelism?
23. In what ways did God use Paul’s background (Roman citizenship) and Paul’s appeal
to Caesar to advance His Kingdom (Acts 20:22-25, 22:25, 22:28-29, 23:11, 25:10-11)?
