User’s Guide
1. INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the world of MAESTRO technology. Your MAESTRO
‘socurty system has bean designed with ease of use and simpicty
in mind We have developed an advanced technology security
‘system with many powerful features that anyone can use without
having to mematizing complex and confusing codes.
The elegant and user-friendly KP-601 keypad allows you to easly
‘acness your security system's functions et the touch of a key. ts
array of LED indicators provides you with 2n easy to-understand
‘display of your security system's status,
‘The area you wish to secure can include as many as 6 or 10 zones
‘and can be controled by several KP-601 keypads. Thanks to the
MagsTRo's partioning feature, two dstinct systems (A and B) can
be crested and controled by the control panel. Partitioning can be
used in installations where shared security systems sre more
practical, such @s—_officawarehouse —bulngs, or
‘apartmerticondaminium complexes
“The KP-604 keypat’s 20 LED display and keypad sounder serve to
keep you instantly aware of alarm, system and operstional status
Motion, smoke, glass break, as well 28 vibralon’snock detectors
‘and door'wandaw contact sensors wil ll report to MAESTRO'S RISC
microprocessor brain and to your monitoring security station. Vital
‘secur infrmation wil be communicated fo you via the Keypad,
The MAESTRO can report @ wide range of stalus conditions to the
‘central montering station. Automatic tastrepor's can also be sent to
‘me menioring station 10 ensure thet your system 1S functioning
properly. We recommend that such tests be conducted regularly
1.1 Keypad Display
Everything you need to know about your system is clearly displayed
‘on the KP-£01 keypad. The koypad layout (ig. 2) provides you with
‘an excellent introduction to the roles of each LED indicator and the
keypad function keys, LED indicators labeled 1 to 10 indicate your
‘system zones status. if @ zone indicator s “of, the status of the
‘corresponding zone 's normal (hnirusion was not detected). I the
zone light 1S “or (iluminated), means the coresponding zone
intrusion has been detected (Le. open door, movement detected).
Flashng zone indicator means there iS @ wiring problem on the
‘corresponding zone.

2.1 Code Priority
When deciding who should have access to your security system,
plaase keep in mind thal esch of the user codes can be assigned 2
different code prionty. Code prionty determines the level of Securty
‘access each user wil have, and which features end functions they
‘can activate. User Codes can be programmed to armvicisarm the
system, activete [HOVE] or [AWAY] arming, and enter zone bypass
cries. n a partitioned system these codes can be programmed 10

installer wil program the code priorities for each user to mest your
specific neds. Note the master coda is defeuted to maxamum code

2.2 Create/Delete Access Codes
NOTE: The default Master Code (00) s 0000.
The Maestro seounly systems can be armed using one of 7
diferent methods designed to cover a varity of security situations.
‘We suggest that you familiarize yourself wth all ming methods so
thal you can take full advantage of your system. All arming methods
‘are preceded by an ext delay period - the period tho contrl pansl
‘wil wat before arming the system after having entered a valid
