“Angalo and Aran”

In the early years of earth, there is no mountains, oceans and rivers to be seen. God created only

2 giants named Angalo and Aran. Angalo was a male giant that when he stands, he can reach

higher than the clouds and in 1 step he can reach Manila from Ilocos Sur, so with his wife Aran.

One day while the two giants are sitting, they saw a unique light from above and they heard a

voice saying "beautify and improved the earth". With what they heard Angalo form the soil like a

mountain and said "this mountain will become a home for living things that will crawl and fly".

On the other hand, Aran picked some seeds and she throw it on the mountains that Angalo

formed and said "These seeds will become food and shelter for living things". After watching on

the mountains that they formed Aran came up with an idea and she said "there is something

missing animals and plants needs water" and Angalo replied "Okay! Then I will build the sea".

Angalo form the soil like a big basin and he urinate on what he made and the water that sea is the

oceans to be found at St. Maria, Candon, Magsingal and others. Aran put the clouds near the

mountains. After a while it rains the seeds sprouted and became the trees and grass. "Water need

to reach the mountains" Angalo said and he paved his hands until he forms a river, that river is

the river of Ilocos like Abra river or tikeng in Quirino. Time passed by Angalo and Aran is no

longer existing but people take good care on the environment that they build. Until now when

people in Ilocos hear the thunder sounds, they will say that is the voice of Angalo and the

rainbow as the sweet smile of Aran.
