AutoCAD Designer (Mechanical)
Syllabus and Course Description
This course enables the trainee to get knowledge of AutoCAD Software and apply for
design/draughtsman trainee positions in the Organization, they are also skilled to set up their own
office to provide services in the matters relating to Designing on AutoCAD for small and large
corporations. This Course is being taught via offline and online methods. Learners develop insight
and working concepts in AutoCAD. The purpose is to provide a Comprehensive CAD Course of
International Standard to all citizens and to provide IT skills in the field of AutoCAD. This is a
short-term course of 3 months duration.
This training is designed for new users who require fundamental knowledge of AutoCAD. The
student will learn about the basic features of AutoCAD Drawing, editing and dimension tools.
Topics covered include the Power commands, drawing border, part list, ballooning parts, block
function library and mechanical structure. There is a heavy emphasis on the use of hands-on
exercises.
Class and Lab (Hours): 210 (60 Theory, 150 Lab)
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Engineering Drawing and window operating systems.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of the course, trainees/students will be able to:
1. Understand the AutoCAD design concepts.
2. Able to develop plans, drawings and sketches.
3. Using AutoCAD basic tools for drafting.
4. Creating and modifying of design.
5. Placing dimension using power dimension and automatic dimension tools creating block
function library.
6. Utilities – Enquiry & Measurements. Plotting \ Printing.
7. Creating and inserting title block.
8. Isometric drawings.
9. 3D design fundamentals.
10. Part list creating and ballooning.
Evaluation
Evaluation will be done at the last of the course based on the exam, a trainee must achieve a
minimum 75% mark to get the certificate from Skill Book.

In this course, we will study sketching and analyzing ideas to determine the best solution for
