 WHAT I NEED TO KNOW

Hello grade 10 students! Welcome to this module! This unit introduces you to the
components and steps in making your personal health career plan. As you go along, you will
encounter activities that will allow and guide you in planning your health career.

As you proceed with this module, you may seek assistance from your parents and
siblings or any adult in your family whenever necessary.

The module starts with a pre-assessment which will determine your prior knowledge on
the topic. Series of activities and discussions will encourage you to explore and learn. Through
this module, the objectives below are desired…

Planning for a HEALTH CAREER

Choosing a career is not an easy thing to do. You don’t look at the pay and the security it
offers you; you also need to consider your primary interests and passion which can open doors
to other careers that you have not considered.
With lots of professions in healthcare, you might consider getting into a health career.
Specially now that we are facing and battling with the COVID-19. There is a continuous demand
for health professionals.

Career
- An occupation or profession that requires special training.

Health Career
- Are designed to familiarize students with the various careers in the medical profession
and allied health services.
- Self-assessment is necessary to understand one’s capabilities and drawbacks.
- It involves continuous learning and improvement to build and grow in the chosen career
