(1) Correspondence for the updated standard (NCM-2150, CMJ-2250)
The software was updated because the following standards were updated.
・ETSI EN 300 338-1, ETSI EN 300 338-1 Version 1.3.1 -> Version 1.4.1
・IEC61162-1 Edition 4 -> Edition 5
a) Added an option for changing the work frequency when a DSC call is received.
b) Added the function to display the currently selected position information source and quality
information.

(2) Correspondence to discontinued parts (NDZ-227)
The software was updated to conform to the specifications of the substitute parts, because the Flash ROM
has been discontinued. The modified software can be used in the Flash ROM of discontinued parts /

APPENDIX 1 Information of the software modification

1. Summary
To Correspond to the ETSI update(EN 300 338-1 & -2: from Ver.1.31 to Ver.1.4.1), we have
modified the software of the JSS-2xxx series as follows.

2. Modified software version

WKR Modem （CMJ-2250）: (Old) 4.00 / 4.02 → (New) 4.01 / 4.08

Controller （NCM-2150）: (Old) 6.00 / 6.15 → (New) 6.01 / 6.19

3.2 Details of Modification

3.2.1 Entry of position information（EN 300 338 -1 clause 9.3）
1) Selecting the position source manually or automatically
Added the function so that operator can select position source automatically or manually
by using the following menu as shown on the Fig.1.

2) Setting the priority of position sources

Added the menu to set the priority order of position sources, because the MF/HF radio
equipment can receive position information from several position sources
simultaneously. (see Fig.2).

3) New setting menu to display the position source and quality information.
Added the menu to select Normal or Quality on the screen as shown on Fig.3 for
displaying the position source information. When the Quality is selected the quality
information will be indicated as shown on Fig.4.

3.2.2 Automatic frequency change function

2) Operation when Auto FREQ change setting is OFF

（EN300 338-2 6.5.7 Automated tuning, 6.7.6 Automated tuning）
When a DSC call is received when Auto FREQ change is set to OFF radio equipment
remains on the current frequency and will display a pop-up screen prompting to accept
the frequency change. Unless accepted manually, the frequency will not change by a
DSC calls. (The following Fig.6 shows an example of distress call reception.)

1. Setting
WRC-12 software can be switched the frequency indication and Telex channel table by the Controller menu.

1.1. Frequency indication

The frequency digits on screen of the controller and the data terminal can be set according to the following
procedure.

1.2. Telex channel table

The ITU channel table for Telex mode can be changed by menu. If necessary, change the setting by the following
procedure.

■ Procedure ■

(1) Press the MENU key, and through hierarchical menus, select 5. Radio
operation.

(2) Move the cursor to 6. ITU CH of RR2012, and press ENT.

Move the cursor to the right as shown in the figure at right to select a
communication mode.
(3) Select the CH setting with the jog dial, and press ENT.

Apply: Telex channel is set to new channeling arrangement of amended Appendix 17 by the first radio
survey after January 2017.

Note In the new channel, some of the old channel cannot be used, and the channel number has also
changed from the old channel.
If you want to use the old channel, please select "Not apply".

2. After removing cable of Controller No.2, turn on power supply.
3. Connect PC to Controller No.1.
4. Downgrade Controller No.1 to desired version (Non-DSC AP / DSC AP) software.
5. Downgrading each unit of Transceiver to above desired version software.
6. Turn off power supply of Transceiver.
7. Disconnect the cable of Controller No.1 and connect the cable to Controller No.2.
8. Turn on power supply of Transceiver.
9. Connect PC to Controller No.2.
10. Downgrade Controller No.2 to above desired version software.
11. Turn off power supply of Transceiver and connect the cable to Controller No.1.
