Analyze

Action research seems easy and familiar. Since teaching seems to be full of problematic
situation and that the teacher has a responsibility of finding solution for everyday problems in
school, hence teachers should do action research. This is an exciting part of being a teacher, a
problem solver!
Let us continue to examine and analyze what you have noticed and interpreted in the
previous activity.
Key Questions My Answer
Choose from options given. You may check more than
one answer
1. From what source do you think, Choices:
did the authors identify the _____Copied from research book
problems of their action _____From daily observation of their teaching practice.
research? _____From difficulties they observed of their learners.
_____ From their own personal experience.
_____From the told experience of their co-teachers.

2. What do you think is the Choices:

teacher’s intention in _____To find a solution to the problematic situation
conducting the action research? _____To comply with the requirement of the principal
_____To improve teaching practice
_____To try out something, if it works
_____To prove oneself as better than the others

3. What benefit do you get as a Choices:

student in FS 2 in _____Prepare me for my future job
understanding and doing action _____Get good grades in the course
research? _____Learn and practice being an action researcher
_____Improve my teaching practice
_____Exposure to the realities in the teaching
profession
_____Become a better teacher everyday

4. In what ways, can you assist Choices:

your mentor in his/her Action _____By co-researching with my mentor
Research Activity? _____By assisting in the design of the intervention
_____By assisting in the implementation of the AR
_____By just watching what is being done

Reflect

Based on the readings you made and the previous activities that you have done,
1. What significant ideas or concepts have you learned about action research?
I learned that action research is a research method that focuses on real-life issue solving
and process improvement. Action research is often conducted in a cyclical manner that
includes planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This iterative process enables
ongoing improvement. It frequently incorporates the active participation of stakeholders in
the research process, such as educators, employees, or community members. This
encourages collaboration and collaborative learning. Action research often fosters a
culture of ongoing learning and collaboration among stakeholders. These concepts are
fundamental to action research and are used to guide researchers in addressing real-world
issues and making positive changes within their specific contexts.
2. Have you realized that there is a need to be an action researcher as a future teacher?
Yes __ No __. If yes, complete the sentence below.
I realized that action research is a means of improving your performance, learning
materials, and methods by reflecting on them. You should conduct an action research
review of every lesson you give, both at the whole-class and individual-student levels
(paying special attention to vulnerable or special-needs students), and then use your
reflection and findings to create your next session. Conducting action research can be a
good experience for a future teacher. Action research is an inquiry approach that entails
actively studying a specific subject or concern inside one's own classroom or school. It
enables teachers to assess their own practices in order to improve student learning. One
advantage of action research is that it enables instructors to actively participate in their
own professional development. Teachers can obtain a better grasp of their own teaching
techniques and find areas for improvement by participating in the research process. This
can lead to higher classroom effectiveness and better student results. Furthermore, action
research can allow teachers to share their results and best practices with their colleagues.
Overall, conducting action research can be a valuable experience for future teachers
because it allows them to take an active role in their own professional development while
also contributing to the improvement of student outcomes.

Write Action Research Prompts

OBSERVE
From what teaching principles of theories can this problem be anchored?

 I have observed and noticed that Action Research begins with a problem or problematic
situation.
Write an example of problematic situation that you have observed and noticed.
When I was observing here in PNHS, I observed that every afternoon subject most of the
students are sleepy, they do not focus on the discussion and some students have their own
world during their class.
REFLECT
What have I realized? What do I hope to achieved?
I realized that for every teaching learning problem, there is a solution.
Write a probable solution to the problematic situation above
Based on my example of problematic situation above my solution will be using of
engaging teaching techniques, using of videos and other apps that can linked in their
topics.
PLAN
What strategies, activities, innovation can I employ to improve the situation or solve the
problem?

 As a future action researcher, I can plan for an appropriate intervention like using of
videos, apps that can help them to learn and, I will employ the engaging teaching
techniques to get my students attention and also that can help them to learn from our
discussion. We all know that afternoon class is crucial because some of students are
sleepy and some of them is hungry that is why I prefer to use videos and other techniques
that can help me to be effective teacher and to help them to feed the knowledge that they
need to learn from me.
ACT
If I conduct or implement my plan, what can be its title?

 If will implement my doable plan in the future, my title would be

content-delivery tool in distance learning, blended or modular. Brame (2017) considered the
three elements in identifying the effective use of video as an educational tool: how to manage the
cognitive load of the video; how to maximize student’s engagement; and how to promote active
