WORKSHEET PHYSICS CHAPTER 1 NUMERICALS

TOPIC: ELECTROSTATIC FORCE

1 What is the force between two small, charged sphere having charges

of 2 × 10−7 𝐶 and 3× 10−7 𝐶 placed 30 cm apart?

2 Four point charges 𝑞𝐴 = 2𝜇𝐶 𝑞𝐵 = −5𝜇𝐶 𝑞𝐶 = 2𝜇𝐶 and

𝑞𝐷 = −5𝜇𝐶 are located at the corners of a square ABCD of side

10cm. What is the force on charge 𝑞𝐵 .

3 Two point charges +q and +4q are placed 12 cm apart. Where

should a third charge -q be placed such it will be in equilibrium.

4 Point charges +1 𝜇𝐶 , +1 𝜇𝐶 and -1 𝜇𝐶 are placed at the corners A,B

and C of an equilateral triangle ABC of side 0.3m. Calculate

resultant force on charge B.

5 Two charges attract each other with a force of 4× 10−6 𝑁 when they

are 0.4 m apart. When the distance of separation is increased to

0.6 m, Find the force between them.
