1.0. TITLE
MEASURING AND TESTING EQUIPMENT CONTROL PROCEDURE
2.0. SCOPE
2.1, This procedure is to define the technical and administrative
requirement to properly control, calibrate and maintain all the
Measuring and Testing Equipments (MTE) on the job site activities
as required in Project Contract Specifications and Requirements,
Code and Standard or Government Regulation applied.
2.2. Where control calibration and maintenance is part of scope of the
subcontractor, the content of this procedure shall be applied to
them also.
3.0. OBJECTIVES
3.1. This is to assure that all the Measuring and Testing Equipment are
properly controlled, calibrated and maintained at the job site during
the process of construction; fabrication, assembly, erection and
testing as required in Project Contract Specifications and
Requirements, Code and Standard or Government Regulation
applied.
3.2. The purpose of this procedure is to ensure the calibration activities
are performed in a uniform and consistent manner and also well
documented.

5,0, DESCRIPTION OF PROCEDURE
5.1, General requirement
5.1.1. The calibration of Measuring and Testing Equipments (except
the internal calibrator Para. 5.1.2 below) may be calibratedMEASURING AND TESTING EQUIPMENT

by internal or external laboratory follow to National or and
International Standard, unless otherwise mandated or
specified by Customer. The specified Calibration Procedure
for internal laboratory (if any) shall be established properly
follows to the Code or Specification and approved by
Customer as required.
5.1.2, All internal calibrator (Pressure Tester or Dead Weight Tester
and Master Gauges) are Calibrated by extemal laboratory
every 3 years unless the Customer request other wise.
5.1.3, The frequency of calibration Measuring and Testing
Equipments (MTE) shall be calibrated follow to Appendix 1,
unless otherwise mandated or specified by Customer.
5.2. Project QAQC Manager or Coordinator or Engineer or Inspector or
his designee at job site is responsible;
5.2.1. To control and monitor all MTE, the frequency of calibration
and calibration procedure used. He shall inform the Site
Manager of minimum 2 (two) weeks before the date of
expiration of calibration validity.
5.2.2. To check the MTE or Calibrators for ensuring;
* Correct range and accuracy of equipment are used.
* Equipments are not damage or broken,
* Indication markings on equipment are clearly legible.
+ Identification of equipment is maintained
+ Equipment are always cleaned and kept in good condition.
5.2.3. To review and accept with signature on the original
calibration certificate at receiving of MTE or Calibrators at job
site to assure compliance with the Code or Specification. The
original calibration certificate shall be kept, documented and
maintained by QAQC section and that copy for Warehouse.
This document shall be available when required by Assessors,
Authorized Inspector and Customer.
5.2.4, To prepare and maintain the list of MTE and Calibrator
Calibration Status Log that contain all of the equipment that
require calibration in the Jobsite as stated-in the form no.
QCS/MTE/O1 and submit the copies of up dated MTE Log
Status to QAQC Division in Head Office at the end of every

5.3. MTE and Calibrators shall be calibrated with the following
conditions:
5.3.1. When the date of MTE or Calibrators calibration will expire in
accordance with expiration date from the corresponding
Calibration Record or Certificate.
5.3.2, When the equipment was found in damage condition, and
after repaired shall be re-callbrated even though the date of
calibration is still valid.
+ If any of the MTE or calibrators found in damage
condition, it must be marked or tagged accordingly
to prevent the use of such damaged equipment.
5.3.3, When the Project QAQC Manager or Engineer or inspector
during observations or inspections of the performance of
equipment indicates the variation of results that cannot
assure the accuracy of equipment
5.3.4. When the MTE or calibrators were not covered by proper
document of calibration, even the equipment was of new
purchase.
5.4, Non Conformity
5.4.1 Equipment found to be out of calibration shall be identified
with “Not to Use" sticker, The Project QAQC Manager or
Engineer or Inspector shall decide whether the equipment can
be used or withdrawn from use.
5.4.2. The Project QAQC Manager or Engineer or Inspector shall
consider the severity of non-conformance and impact it may
have on products checked by the equipment.
5.4.3. If there is evidence of serious impact, an NCR shall be raised
and corrective actions instigated.
6.0, SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
6.1. When the Customer has the written procedure or instruction for MTE
calibration and more stringent in the calibration criteria, the MTE
calibration shall follow Customer procedure or instruction,
6.2. In such case the Customer does not have specific requirement for
calibration of MTE, this procedure shall take precedence,
6.3, When the Jobsite was not covered by Project QAQC Manager or
Engineer or Inspector, the Site Manager shall be responsible to
assign the personnel to handle and monitoring the MTE/Calibrators

6.4. All equipments not covered by this procedure such as heavy duty
equipment which shall be certified by authorized body and or
government agency shall follow the instruction from Rigging and
Equipment Department, and the equipment QAQC Engineer will
control and monitor the certification of the equipments which shall
follow the constructions equipment control's instruction accordingly
