Preparation Material (EE, EC, EI)
Preparation Material (EE, EC, EI)
If anyone wants to prepare for the circuital core, they can start with either of the 2 sections
depending upon their interest.
For EE core the major subjects like Power electronics and Electrical Machines are covered
which are frequent in OT and interviews.
For VLSI major subjects like Digital, Analog, Verilog, and STA are very important and in this
document, we have covered verilog projects but you can have any VLSI projects.
Note: The depth of the subjects required varies as per the profile offered.
The subjects that are needed to be focussed in the electrical core are: -
1. Electrical Machines
2. Power Electronics
3. Network Analysis
Chapter 1 - Transformers
Chapter 3 - Basic concepts of rotating Electrical Machines 3.1 to 3.3 & 3.10
Chapter 4 - D. C. Machines
Chapter 6 - Polyphase Induction Motors
The above sections can be studied in detail in the following playlist, but please try to read the
chapters from the book line by line.
Lectures 1 to 3
Lecture 11 to 47 (For Transformers)
Lecture 58 to 111 (For DC machines)
Lecture 131, 132, 139 to 150 (Induction machines)
Power Electronics must be studied from the book
Chapter 1 - Introduction
Chapter 2 - Power semiconductor diodes and transistors
Chapter 3 - Diode circuits and rectifiers
Chapter 4 - Thyristors (4.1 to 4.6)
Chapter 6 - Phase Controlled Rectifiers
The above sections can be studied in detail in the following playlist, but please try to read the
chapters from the book line by line.
Network Analysis:
-CMOS (Basics of inverter and its characteristics and Construction of Logic gates)
-Analog Electronics (At least Diode, BJT, MOSFET, single stage amplifiers and Current
Mirrors)
-Network Analysis (RC circuit questions are very frequent, Network Analysis question with R,
L, C are asked in interview)
Placement:
-Analog Electronics (Diode, BJT, MOSFET, single stage amplifiers, Filters, Differential
Amplifiers, Current Mirrors)
Digital Electronics:
Playlist:
Books: Follow Digital Design by Morris Mano(thoroughly and try to solve the back
questions)
Note: Get a good grasp on the concepts of Number systems, Combinational circuits,
Sequential circuits, FSM, and Memory.
VERILOG:
ASIC world
Projects:
FPGA4student projects
- GFG COA
Practice Questions on Pipelining, Cache Memory, Flash memory and main memory.
Sanfoundry questions
Design Puzzles:
Note: Practice various digital design puzzles from different blogs on the internet to get a
hang of it. You might even come across puzzles that will be directly asked in PI.
