DISCUSSION QUESTIONS (DQ's).

2. Analyze an organization’s requirements for Enterprise Resource Planning.

Answer:

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a comprehensive software solution that integrates a

company's several operations and processes. Understanding an organization's specific needs,
goals, and obstacles is required while analysing its ERP requirements. The following are
critical steps for analysing an organization's ERP requirements:

1. Understand the Business Processes: Gain a complete understanding of the existing

business processes across departments within the organization. Determine areas for
improvement, obstacles, and pain points that must be addressed (Anderson, 2011).
2. Determine Functional Requirements: Determine which features and functions are
required by various departments and stakeholders. Finance and accounting,
procurement, inventory management, manufacturing, sales, customer relationship
management (CRM), and human resources (HR) are just a few examples.
3. Determine Integration Requirements: Evaluate the current systems and applications in
use within the organization and determine the integration requirements with the ERP
system. Identifying the requirement for integration with third-party software, legacy
systems, and other critical systems is part of this process.
4. Think about Scalability and Growth: Evaluate the organization's future growth goals
and scalability needs. Determine whether the ERP system can handle the
organization's changing needs, higher transaction volumes, more users, and expansion
into new markets or business lines.
5. Determine the Level of customisation or Configuration Required: Determine the level
of customisation or configuration required to match the ERP system with the
organization's specific processes and workflows. Examine the ERP system's
versatility to permit customisation without jeopardizing future updates and
maintenance.
