1.2 Project Contact information
Please find attached Templates for TSSR(New Build & Colo) as well as the LOS templates.
Equipment Code
Installation:
-AIM must be properly tightened with UBT as per recommendation written in installation manual (7,6Nm).
-OCTIS connectors must be used (Power + Fiber type) as a general protection.
-UBT must be grounded (16mm²).
-We should take care on the DC distributor variation (especially if perhaps a DC peak is occuring during batterie
charging, use of a proper fuse size, …)
Alignement:
-Dual Polar antennas are sensible on XPD alignment (CrossPolarDiscrimination), requiring a fine tuning of
polarization antenna too.
-Two BNC connectors are available on UBT-T (RX channel A and RX channel B).
-Make sure, after alignment, to well cover again the BNC connectors with their dedicated caps.
Configuration:

breaker/fuse.
Alignement:
Due to the narrow beam in 80GHz, the alignment is requiring good fine tuning. In case of issue, an alignment kit
can be used for this purpose. (3DB28731AA).

AIM RFID
A mechanism has been implemented to automatically retrieve the radio capabilities of the AIM (and consequently
of the ODU).
This mechanism is based on RFID: the AIM supports a RFID tag which contains the capability of the AIM. At UBT
switch-on, the reader (in the active part) illuminates the tag and retrieves the information. Consequently, it is no
longer necessary to manually select the shifters from a long list.
Note: Don't remove the AIM RFID and it should be aligned with the reader in the UBT to correctly read the AIM
characteristics.

AIM-T-O installation on UBT-T
If the A I M is installed on the Active part, as shown in the figure, as shown in the figure on the left side, the UBT-T
will transmit in the Low sub-band (this means that the Tx frequency is lower than the Rx frequency).
If the A I M is installed on the Active part, as shown in the figure, as shown in the figure on the right side, the UBT-
T will transmit in the High sub-band (this means that the Tx frequency is higher than the Rx frequency).
3.2 Antenna Installation
1- Depending on the antenna, assemble the antenna kit corresponding to the manufacturer’s installation
instructions.
2- Check or change the polarization on the antenna nose. Follow the instruction supplied with each antenna.
Procedure
To install the antenna on the tower, follow the procedure shown below:
3.3 UBT-T installation on Antenna
Before to install the UBT on the RFS antenna insert the 4 fixing screws in the relevant UBT-T holes.
UBT-T Polarization
If the UBT-T is installed on the antenna, as shown in the left side where letter H is at the top, the used
polarization will be Horizontal.
If the UBT-T is installed on the antenna, as shown in the right side where letter V is at the top, the used
polarization will be Vertical.
The connectors must be always down, because the cables have to come down from below.

3.4 UBT Coupler Instalation
The OMT plus Coupler (OMT-C) is a passive device that permits the coupling of four carriers (two in V
polarization and two in H polarization) on a single integrated DP antenna.
This function is used with the Nokia UBT Twin (UBT-T) equipped with the AIM-T-D.

Powering DC cable
UBT will be powered through a DC coaxial cable.
The coax cable will be stripped on site and screwed inside the Octis connector (central conductor and braid
separately). On the indoor side, the coax will be terminated by N connector depending on the device providing DC
(rectifier, battery, etc.).
Assemble the OCTIS SFP connector following the instructions given in the leaflet.
Plug the cap of UBT port inside corresponding the OCTIS cap.
Attach the OCTIS cap with tie-rap to the UBT lever or to the tower.
In this way, we avoid losing any caps during maintenance activity.
All power connection to the UBT is using coaxial cable and to be powered from rectifier. The N-type to 2 wire
connector is used to connect the power to the coaxial cable. N-type female connector is attached to the coaxil
cable and the n-type to 2 wire connector attached to the 2 wire. Each UBT radio is powered from a 6A CB and the
far end site is used to label the power cable.

3.7.1 Labelling
Important Notes:
Outdoor Labelling
Grounding:
Please add specification of grounding resistance to be checked before power-on of the equipment
Connect the UBT ground point to the nearest grounding plate using the ground cable 16mm². Washer, screw and
lug are provided with the UBT.
The picture below gives the instructions to ground the indoor-outdoor cable.
3.8 Aligment
3.9 Tools
Received Signal Strength Indicator is used on UBTs for antenna alignment. UBT-T has two BNC connectors. The
BNC connector on the left is associated with carrier A, while the BNC connector on the right is associated with
carrier B.
CABLE CLAMPS:
Cable clamps manage the cables (dc, Fiber, among others) to provide a secure connection. A maximum
distance of one (1) meter must be taken into consideration in between spacing. For Roof Top Sites, Cable
ties would be preferred because of infrastructure difference.
Cable slag brackets will be used at the antenna side to manage the excess cable as the optic cable is
abavailable in either 50m or 80m lengths. Below is an example of the slag management.
4.2.1 Self-Assessment
Self-Assessment is work done check, which a member of the Subcon installation team will perform of their own
work as agreed in the contracted statement of Work.
The Site Quality Assessments are conducted on random basis according to the Site Quality Assessment Plan.
Every Service Supplier (SeS) working on every site must have their company Health and
Safety file with them. They must possess an updated Nokia HSE Passport ID as proof of compliance.
The following items must be defined in the SeS Health & Safety File
• Project Scope of Work
• Health and Safety Specifications
• Risk Matrix Methodology & Baseline Risk Assessment
• Appointments in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Procedures in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Safe Work Instructions
• Registers and Checklist of Tools and Equipment
• Health and Safety Plans
• Incident and Reporting in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act
As a general Health & Safety rule, Nokia have come up with regulations on the proper rigging and hoisting of
equipment (RF antenna, transmission links, RF modules......etc.) being done during network rollout. Strict
Compliance on these regulations must be observed always. Failure to do so will have corresponding sanctions.
Nokia laid out clear non-negotiable standard for working at height. Please ensure the following:
• Riggers who work at height need to be trained and carry copy of certification
• Be medically fit to climb.
• Use proper fall protection devices (full body harnesses, shock absorbing double lanyard, positioning belt,
fall arrestor to use while ascending or descending, rigger helmet, safety shoes, gloves and a pouch to carry
tools) and anchor at strong anchor points.
• Need supervision on ground.
