Objectives: The object of this course is to; By the end of the 5-day Basic Digital Skills Training, the Technical Teachers and Instructors (TTIs) of Technical
Schools in Nigeria will have gained the following objectives:
 Acquire foundational knowledge of essential digital skills necessary for effective teaching and instruction in technical subjects.
 Develop proficiency in using digital tools and technologies to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement.
 Learn effective strategies for incorporating digital resources into lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment methods.
 Enhance their ability to adapt to the evolving digital landscape and stay updated with emerging technologies relevant to technical education.
 Build confidence in utilizing digital platforms for communication, collaboration, and professional development within the educational
community.

Expected Learning Outcomes:


Overall, participants will gain the necessary skills to confidently navigate the digital landscape, communicate effectively online, and leverage various
digital tools for personal and professional growth, while maintaining online safety and adhering to ethical practices.

Participants are expected to;


● Gain basic digital literacy skills, including computer fundamentals, troubleshooting, and file management.
● Understand the importance of digital skills in today's world and be aware of emerging technologies.
● Develop effective digital communication skills, such as web browsing, utilizing learning management systems, and evaluating online
information.
● Use email and communication tools proficiently, including email etiquette and collaboration platforms.
● Utilize productivity tools for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
● Comprehend creative credit and copyright principles, respecting intellectual property rights.

1. Basic Digital Literacy:
● Computer Fundamentals

○ Operating systems and basic troubleshooting
○ File management and organization
● Introduction to Digital Skills
○ Importance of digital skills in the modern world
○ Overview of digital technologies and their impact on education
○ Digital skills trends and job opportunities
○ Introduction to Emerging Technologies (AI, AR, 4IR)
2. Digital Communication Skills:
● Internet and Web Browsing
○ Understanding the Internet and its components
○ Web browsers and navigating websites
○ Use of Learning management systems to enhance delivery
○ Searching the web effectively and evaluating online information
○ Introduction to AI tools( Grammarly, Chat GPT, Paraphrasing tools)
● Email and Communication Tools
○ Basics of email communication and etiquette
○ Setting up and managing email accounts
○ Introduction to online collaboration tools (e.g., Google Drive, Microsoft Office)

3. Productivity Tools:
● Presentation Tools
○ Introduction to word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs)
Creating and formatting documents
○ Spreadsheet basics using software like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
○ Designing effective presentations using software like Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides
4. Virtual Learning Environment:
